http://swz-northampton.blogspot.com/2016/08/instructions-for-shikantaza.html
Monday, 1 August 2016. It's hard to give concise, clear instructions for shikantaza. Part of this is because I think we all have to find our own way into shikantaza; to become familiar enough with our own internal worlds that we can arrive at our own understanding of what is meant by hishiryo. Non-thinking, as opposed to not. Dogen's instructions are found in the text called Fukanzazengi. Comes from. You can find a good translation at the Sotoshu's own website. Zazen is not non-doing; it is not non-think...

zeNN1 - StoneWater Zen Northampton: July 2016
http://swz-northampton.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 31 July 2016. Friends along the Way. Last week, I received a wonderful email from Clive Lindley-Jones, who attended the one-day retreat last month. Friends along the Way. Once the Buddh...

Leaves from the Tree of Life. Just another sentient being hanging from the tree of life by the teeth. About the title of this Blog. How happy do you want to be? Or “Why I am a Buddhist”. February 23, 2011 in Buddhism. As I started to enter my teens, I was slowly coming around to what I had been told all my life in response to these impressions: That when I grow up, I will realise the world doesn’t work the way I think it does and that you can’t always get what you want. Standing on a Crossroad. My name i...
