Das 2011 ins Leben gerufene Museumssystem von Iola Montese besteht aus einer Reihe von thematischen Sammlungen mit rund 4.000 Objekten in über 16 Ausstellungshallen mit einer Gesamtfläche von rund 600 Quadratmetern. Hinzu kommen einige Rundgänge über die Schlachtfelder, auf denen alliierte und deutsche Soldaten von 1944 bis 1945 an der letzten Frontlinie, der so genannten Grünen Linie, besser bekannt als Gotenstellung, kämpften. With an initiative of the Municipality of Montese in collaboration with the Museum of Italian Memories of Iola and the Historical Museum of Montese was born the project Widespred Museum of the Gothic Line. The initiative aims to accompany visitors and enthusiasts among the villages and woods, enriched by monuments and museums that are encountered in the 23 km route along which runs the network of Places and Paths of Memory.
