Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease of children. You may not know that childhood cancer is more common than you think. See below to learn more about childhood cancer and what it takes to “survive cancer”.*. Children will be diagnosed with cancer each year. Children will be diagnosed with cancer before age 15, estimated 10,450 new cases and 1,350 cancer deaths. Are expected to occur among children (ages 0-14) each year. The average age of a child diagnosed with cancer is 6 years old. 1 out of 5.
