Philipsburg is four parallel streets squeezed between Great Bay, where the cruise ships dock, and Salt Pond, where salt was made many years ago. But this is about restaurants. They are everywhere and cater to most every taste. Créole, of course, but being only a few miles from French St Martin, some of the finest French chefs ply their trade on the Dutch side. Antoine Restaurant. Serves traditional French dishes, some with a northern Italian flair and provides a great view of the Bay at no extra charge.

Orient Beach, Oyster Pond, and Dawn Beach (St Maarten) Info and Map
Orient Beach, home of the Club Orient naturist resort has something for everyone. The northern end starts off mostly clothed and people wear less and less until they reach the southern end where clothing is optional throughout the resort: beach (of course), boutique (why not), and restaurant (yikes! Just south of Orient Beach is L'Embouchure Bay or Galion Beach, voted best place to take your kids on the island. A bit further is Oyster Pond, a great harbor, with a marina and several restaurants.

Philipsburg is four parallel streets squeezed between Great Bay, where the cruise ships dock, and Salt Pond, where salt was made many years ago. The vision of a previous generation of island leaders was to maintain the CrÃole houses on the shore, providing arriving boats with a look back into the island's past.
