Smithers' & Oso's Old House
http://nomoreturquoise.blogspot.com/2011/04/kitchen-progress-me-dust-mask-heat-gun.html
Smithers and Osos Old House. If all else fails, lower your standards. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Me Dust Mask Heat Gun Scraper Sander Shop Vac = two very long days going on three. Trying hard to finish stripping the old large upper cabinet boxes before the weekend. Two are definitely original- solid wood, three to four layers of paint. The third was added in the 1950s- plywood shelves, different hinges, two layers of paint. Ms Kale and Mr. Collard Greens. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Smithers and Osos Old House. If all else fails, lower your standards. Thursday, May 05, 2011. More Kitchen Progress- drywall and paint. Patching the old vent hole. After picking out dozens of paint chips- I tried out some samples. This one is "Artichoke Hearts" by Benjamin Moore. It's greenish goldish. Testing paint color for inside of cabinet. I decided to go bold, but neutral. Walls = Green Tea, Benjamin Moore. Inside Back of Cabinet = Revere Pewter, Benjamin Moore. Break time in the garden. Kitchen Ca...

Smithers' & Oso's Old House: January 2009
http://nomoreturquoise.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Smithers and Osos Old House. If all else fails, lower your standards. Monday, January 19, 2009. Michele's doing a pretty good job up there, don'tcha think? This is a lot of hard work. But Michele's got her official house remodeling jeans on. Our spirits are high! Or is that the paint fumes? Terry's painting himself into a corner. :). I'm ready for supper, dammit! Michele does real good work. It's looking pretty good. Note the bedroom at the end of the hall is done. Yay! Ms Kale and Mr. Collard Greens.

Smithers' & Oso's Old House
http://nomoreturquoise.blogspot.com/2011/05/kitchen-cabinet-install-before-install.html
Smithers and Osos Old House. If all else fails, lower your standards. Saturday, May 07, 2011. Before install, we added a little graffiti to hide behind the cabinets for someone to discover next time the cabinets are replaced. Our kitchen is very awkward due to all the doorways, so the only cabinet that is a normal 24" depth is the sink cabinet and a really narrow one by the stove. All the others are shallower than normal. I'm very excited to finally see the spot that the dishwasher will go. Benjamin Moor...

The Larson Garden: Bolting toward Harvest Monday
http://thelarsongarden.blogspot.com/2012/03/bolting-toward-harvest-monday.html
Growing and posting from Tacoma WA. Monday, March 19, 2012. Bolting toward Harvest Monday. Even though the overwintering crowd has started to bolt toward the barn doors, they remain plentiful and tasty. Spring is near, though it is under a cover of frost this morning. Leeks, sprouts, spinach and chard await the pizza stone. The sauce is from our canned summer stores. We still have squash in the larder. This pint is being. Dried to satisfy work snack cravings. Mar 19, 2012, 8:59:00 AM. Yes, thats what wil...

The Larson Garden: Harvest Monday
http://thelarsongarden.blogspot.com/2012/02/harvest-monday_27.html
Growing and posting from Tacoma WA. Monday, February 27, 2012. There is more cabbage and Brussels in the garden than it seems. That's not to say that I can feed an army, or our small family day-in and day-out, but there is certainly enough that I need to work it into as many meals as I can during the week. That works out to lunches during the weekday and a couple evening meals. It is a good problem to have. A beet in the hand. also worth two birds in the bush? The brassica dreams of seeds. You are so rig...

The Larson Garden: Baking interlude
http://thelarsongarden.blogspot.com/2011/11/baking-interlude.html
Growing and posting from Tacoma WA. Monday, November 28, 2011. The hours of light are short. The temperatures have dipped. The sky its dripping. It is time to bake. It has been years since I've made bread on a regular basis. I let my sourdough starter go and turned my attention elsewhere. I have some attention again and have acquired part of a great starter from a friend. It is nice to turn some attention back to bread. Multigrain just before baking. A country-white, the essence of bread:. Daphne's Dande...
