A Blog by A Quranist about Quranism. Juz Amma, part 2. July 27, 2010. The beginning of chapter 86 is interesting. What is at-taariq, ayah 1 asks? Well ayah 3 replies, it’s an-najm ath-thaqib which apparently means the star of piercing brightness. I would have accepted this except for ayah 4 which talks about the soul and the protector over it. How does this link with ayah 1-3? There is much work to be done to map the various symbols of nature in the Quran with symbols in the human sphere. Juz Amma, pt 1.
