http://paulkawachi.blogspot.com/2007/07/review-of-wikis-in-distance-education.html
Open Education Network Blog. Review of Wikis in Distance Education. Of the various Social Apps, I would like to review the use of wikis in distance education. It is unlikely that they will be used as collaborative group learning tools, since a strong participant may be discouraged by no credit and by others freeloading. Open Education Network Blog: Educational Social Software
http://paulkawachi.blogspot.com/2007/07/educational-social-software.html
Open Education Network Blog. I would like to give here a brief overview of educational social software - what it is and how useful - and then in a future Posting review one of them in more detail. As I wrote, there are hundreds of Social Apps, although very little academic literature on them as yet. Nevertheless, I will review what there is of the literature very soon. Friday, July 13, 2007. Open Education Network Blog: Mac Pages to GIF

Open Education Network Blog. Mac Pages to GIF. However, you will find (table select) copy and paste is ineffective to transfer a table into Powerpoint (even Powerpoint for Mac), and export to Word or to Powerpoint distorts the artwork too much. Previously I have resorted to re-drawing from scratch. But help is at hand. This can be stored for re-use back inside Pages, or inside a Powerpoint, Keynote, or Word file. Mac is really intuitive! Open Education Network Blog. Raptivity : Trial and Tribulation. I have managed to get Raptivity to run on my Mac, though some difficulties remain. My project is to build one or more self-standing modules to help students reflect on how best to use the virtual classroom for synchronous collaborative group learning. Here are screen grabs showing the module-in-action. Notice the Mac Icons along the bottom! Sunday, July 08, 2007. Labels: Ease of Use Review. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Open Education Network Blog. On using ‘Raptivity’ for packaging e-learning. Previously below I have reported that Archibald (2005). Wrote that conventional e-learning design involves the subject content expert, then instructional designer, followed next by a developer who makes the interaction solution, and the e-learning programme is then tested out. However in practice, e-learning design often entails far more steps and more people. Saturday, July 07, 2007. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). On using ...

Open Education Network Blog: Producing a Podcast Interview

Open Education Network Blog. Producing a Podcast Interview. I can well appreciate (more so today than yesterday) that having two persons in one room sharing one microphone into an mp3 recorder has 'technological' advantages. GarageBand music application can not open up mp3 to adjust the loudness of only one segment, but iMovie can using the recording head to make a break in the timeline. I will detail the actual podcasts in the following Post. Monday, July 16, 2007. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
