http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 25 November 2014. A week off . Have you spotted the white veil over the lawn this morning? Bird bath frozen, pansies heads down, white leaves . We had a touch of frost earlier on, but I think King Winter has really arrived now. Time for my cherished scarf from Jenny, I took it out a few days ago. Mmm, so lovely, that scarf. Yes, there are remnants of summer, nature continues to amaze me. But in a few days the leaves were swirling down, almost in a hurry . See the tree now, by the way? Oops, you ...

http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 April 2015. I hope you're all doing well. It's still cold here in Holland, we even had a late touch of frost. Time for some more warmth now, time to put the geraniums out! Yes, I'm politely waiting till the ice Saints have greeted us and have left the country for this year . The plants and trees are turning green rapidly though, thanks to the rain we had. Talking about green: I made my first olive green garland on the. Sampler. Lovely colours, I'm enjoying this new start. Home of a Quilter.

Carolien's stitches: January 2015
http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 January 2015. I hope you're having a nice day. We had a cold but nice day, partly in . Zutphen. Zutphen is an old Hanseatic city, a hanzestad. At a 40 minutes drive from Zevenaar. Fleur and I had never been there before. I knew it had to be a nice old city and it's true! It's a charming place to go, even on a cold winter's day. The parking space in the city centre was a good start: lovely small houses, dated 1873, surrounded it. A good view for Anton Pieck, I guess. See the street? A Catholic ...

Carolien's stitches: February 2015
http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 February 2015. While she's traveling . While Sofia is traveling by train to Zevenaar, I can show you my present for her. Last week I finished the top for her quilt. After more than two years! I had some 'in-betweens', I must confess. A baby quilt, Cock and Yvette's quilt . Since Sofia was so patient to wait and wait and wait, I decided to speed up the process. How on earth do you quilt a thimble quilt? It's a very lively but tiny pattern. Small patterns? Endless. Big patterns? Driving back hom...

Carolien's stitches: December 2014
http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 31 December 2014. It's Oudejaarsavond, Old Year's Eve. As we say here in Holland. The fireworks are more and more present and we still have some hours to go till 'the big moment'. I bet everyone is looking back a little (or a lot) . How to start this new year-to-come anyway? Don't understand me wrong: I'm not getting depressed or what, grins. I love my job and focus on 'whatever I can do to make their last hour(s) with their beloved something to look back on with gratefulness and good feel...

Carolien's stitches: March 2015
http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. When Lotje and I were turning my sewing room upside down, I found two hidden samplers. I made them years ago. The first one was made as an. I put in small patterns that I liked. No prefab pattern . It is a mixture of the traditional red of many, many Dutch samplers and a handful of colours. See the rings and the date? We were engaged during a weekend in Diepenveen, as guests in a special place: the Cistercian cloister of Our Lady of Sion. Fond memories . Dutch greetings, Carolien.
