http://carlanderson.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 27, 2012. This morning I read a post. That hits on a lot of issues that have been going through my mind lately and the subsequent conversations on Twitter around the topic have clarified my thinking a little bit more. The topic is data. In Russ' post he embeds a Tweet from another educator whose logic bothers him:. Love this statement-'Without data you are just another person with an opinion' #atplc. 183; powered by @socialditto. To which Russ replies:. If that’s what you are. To which se...

Thursday, December 13, 2012. The Farce in Numbers Project #edchat #artchat #digitalart. I think it was David Warlick who I first heard say, "First we do old things in old ways, then we do old things in new ways, and finally we do new things in new ways." David was talking about new computer technologies but I believe the axiom holds true for art as well. The week-long inquiry project that came from this became material for the session, Design of the Times. This infographic uses a simple trick to lie with...

http://carlanderson.blogspot.com/2011/06/i-hosted-my-own-conference-this-week.html
Thursday, June 30, 2011. I hosted my own conference this week and approximately 18,000 people attended #edchat #iste11. Last summer I wrote a post. This week, at the ISTE Conference in Philadelphia. We had the formal conference, the ISTE Unplugged. Sessions, and Edubloggercon. But there was also another conference going on there, one few people knew about, one I silently hosted. On yellow post-it notes I printed QR codes. Posted by Carl Anderson. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Come see me at #ISTE11.

Thursday, January 26, 2012. The Invisible Technology of School. I am currently reading Kevin Kelly's new book, What Technology Wants. Trying to define technology is hard. Two years ago I sat on an interview committee hiring a technology teacher. The principal asked if there were any questions I would like to add to the list before we began the interviews. I told him I had only one, "What is technology? When a new technology is introduced into an ecology everything changes or becomes irrelevant. Accor...
