The Gay Blade: May 2012
http://gayblade.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
The Musings and Rants of a Gay Aucklander, about whatever I fancy. Monday, May 28, 2012. Gay Marriage - Is It a Right? I saw that there is a debate tonight in Sydney. On whether or not same-sex marriage should be legalised, featuring NZ Queer Theorist Prof Annemarie Jagose amongst others. She is taking the position that it shouldn't. And on gaynz.com my friend and fellow blogger Jeremy Lambert. Has raised the issue as well, but he's for it, wondering where the activists to push it are. And I can remember...

The Gay Blade: Catching Up
http://gayblade.blogspot.com/2012/10/catching-up.html
The Musings and Rants of a Gay Aucklander, about whatever I fancy. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. I have been busy! Or that's what it feels like anyway with two part-time jobs on the go - I keep trying to find time to write stuff in here, keep trying to catch the ideas as they appear, but then something else comes up and I lose the thread and well, you know . I don't understand - you mean the police used to come into gay bars and be able to arrest people just because they were gay? We were illegal, it was ...

The Gay Blade: Post Parade
http://gayblade.blogspot.com/2013/02/post-parade.html
The Musings and Rants of a Gay Aucklander, about whatever I fancy. Sunday, February 17, 2013. Queer Auckland took to the streets to show our pride on Saturday, and it was a lot of fun. It is obviously not such an important event as yet, as the Prime Minister didn't bother to cut a ribbon, but we got David Shearer and others from Labour and Kevin Hague from the Greens. The Catholic Mayor of the city, who considers being gay "a lifestyle choice" was there eager to hoover up some PR. Yes it was, definitely.

The Gay Blade: January 2013
http://gayblade.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The Musings and Rants of a Gay Aucklander, about whatever I fancy. Tuesday, January 22, 2013. The Porn in Your Pocket. Yeah yeah, I know, it's been a while . again. But I'm back. And will be on a regular basis. What better topic to start the new year off with than porn, penises and life online? I've never really been a huge fan of porn, not the visual stuff anyhow, I've always preferred to read it and make up the scenes in my head. And this is, I'd say, a very good thing. I'm all grown up! I'm also sure ...

The Gay Blade: April 2012
http://gayblade.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
The Musings and Rants of a Gay Aucklander, about whatever I fancy. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. It had to happen I guess, it's been building up for a while. And now that ex NZAF Chair Alastair Cameron. Has been appointed the Leader of the Opposition's Head of Staff, it comes out. Yes, the Great Gay Conspiracy, the Velvet Mafia, the Homintern. Over cocktails or lattes, quietly chatting in gyms, passing coded messages by the songs DJs play, we push deeper into the social order. It's not a surprise though, an...

The Gay Blade: March 2012
http://gayblade.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
The Musings and Rants of a Gay Aucklander, about whatever I fancy. Thursday, March 29, 2012. Even with the new meds though, and the gradual improvement to my health, I always had this sense in the back of my mind that it would all fall apart, that the meds would stop working and I'd go back to that time where my death seemed so close and obvious. I've been thinking about all this lately as I try and re-shape my life and search for a career - again. On the other hand, I can't think of a medical condition ...

The Gay Blade: Love, Trust, Marriage and HIV

The Musings and Rants of a Gay Aucklander, about whatever I fancy. Thursday, February 28, 2013. Love, Trust, Marriage and HIV. So all things being equal, it looks like we're going to get the right to get married. If we're all reading the tea-leaves in the right way. It seems like it's going to get through. Marriage. Love. Intimacy. Trust. Looking at the NZAF's latest condom campaign. They seem to be saying "No! What does it mean for safe-sex programmes? What does it mean for HIV prevention? If you look a...

Hugh Tauerner's Tap Room: October 2011
http://hughtauerner.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Hugh Tauerner's Tap Room. Trucks and Sheep and Wool and Stuff. View my complete profile. Monday, October 17, 2011. Trucks and Sheep and Wool and Stuff. I've spent an inordinate amount of money on getting a water leak fixed in my Land Rover. This ruined my plan to spend a lot of money at the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool show. However, it's worth it not to have moldy carpets or fried (or should that be boiled? But that's not what this post is about. It's about Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Show. We'd decided that w...
