Up above to down under: September 2012

http://upabovetodownunder.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, 29 September 2012. The Edinburgh of the South. As we continue our tour of the South Island, we move back towards the coast passing through Twizel and Oamaru both for one night before arriving in Dunedin, the second largest city on the South Island. It wasn't a good start to our drive as I broke the tail light on our beloved Lancer reversing into a barrier which was below my line of sight in a car park. The car did get fixed in the end after a lot of chasing around. Not far away stands the 54-me...

She picked me up from Bergen airport and brought me to this church upon leaving Bergen airport, Fantoft Stave Church. I ordered...

thealeguy | Just another WordPress.com site

Just another WordPress.com site. Tawny Owl Ale is brewed by Cotleigh Brewery in the town of Wiveliscombe, Somerset England. The Tawny Owl is a part of their Beers of Prey Series. This is a golden color ale slightly hazy with a frothy white head. The aroma is a fresh grassy hop nose that flows into a toffy sweet maltyness with hints of citrus fruit. The flavor is a light smooth hop bitterness with a creamy malt sweetness and touch of biscuit that finishes dry on the tongue. Posted by The Ale Guy. I Travel...

December 20, 2016. Ex Novo Brewing makes an incredible English Mild called “Where the Mild Things Are” that weighs in at just 3.5% and has a ton of wonderful flavor. To be honest, I have NO idea what they use or how to make a mild. I read up on the style quite a bit and have mostly deferred to a homebrewer. OG – 1.041. FG – 1.013. ABV – 3.8%. IBU – 18. SRM – 23. Maris Otter (floor malted) – 6.5 lbs (79.3%). UK Crystal 62-72 – 11.2 oz. (8.5%). UK Extra Dark Crystal – 6.4 oz. (4.9%). December 20, 2016.
