A Very Special Birthday. May 28, 2008. 8212; Bekah @ 8:16 pm. Phare turned one today! Here are some of the things I really love about her:. 1 She will happily approach and grab a live lobster, but decorative door wreaths scare her to death (see picture below if you doubt this). 2 She generally prefers peas over grapes (or any other fruit). 3 The way she simply faints from excitement over seeing flags and dogs. 4 Her curiosity, an inspiration for me especially. If you think of praying for us today please do, especially for the grace to handle whatever it is God has in store for us with this new little baby. Sorry it has been so long, but we’ve had a picture issue, trying to move stuff elsewhere and now I feel and am completely ignorant. However, I just realized that some pictures were left on the camera and that I can handle! Noah is now in NC visiting his dad for the summer, and then onto Washington DC for a leadership conference. He won’t be home until August 15th! We miss him a lot around here!

I’m grateful for his generosity too–he is always willing to lend a helping hand and support us in any way he can. The day was glorious, peak fall colors, and a beautiful view of Mt. Ascutney. Despite the fact that we now have a gazillion apples we don’t have the time to bake with, it was worth the trip. Sunday Best, Monopoly, and Formula. February 25, 2008. 8212; Bekah @ 9:16 am. We actually made it to church on Sunday, which is a great excuse for putting dresses and skirts on Phare despite the temp of 17. The skirt is a hand-me-down from cousin Ramona in Chicago, who always looks stylish, so I can’t really take any credit. Toby is clearly proud to be Phare’s Daddy in this picture! I hope I haven’t irritated anyone with these thoughts. I’d love to hear your input, if you have any. February 18, 2008.

Very Special Birthdays August 22, 2008. 8212; Bekah @ 5:51 pm. Today is Noah’s 12th birthday! Noah returned last week from a leadership conference in Washington DC where he had many wonderful opportunities to see the sights and learn some leadership skills. This was a big honor for Noah, as each student was nominated by one of their teachers to attend the conference. He had a really fabulous time and I feel proud of him for venturing out to an experience that was completely unknown and far away. You are ...

April 27, 2008. 8212; Bekah @ 7:09 pm. My grandparents had to leave, feeling very embarrassed. Seriously, we had a wonderful visit. I love my grandparents very much and feel so fortunate to have known them for so long. My grandpah is now 87 and is planning to possibly retire at the age of 90! They are celebrating their 60th anniversary this June! Grammie Sue October 17, 2008. 8212; Bekah @ 1:28 pm. We were incredibly fortunate to have the help of my mother-in-law for about 11 days, starting a week after Winifred’s birth. Sue was so incredibly helpful–cleaning, taking care of Phare, making dinner, grocery shopping, spending time with Noah, you name it. I feel amazed by her generosity and kindness in ministering to our family. My children are so lucky to have her and so am I! Winifred and Grammie Sue. Phare and Grammie Sue in October of 2007.
