Friday, August 29, 2014. This year the Paxton's decided to go camping at Fish Lake. We arrived on a Sunday evening and spent a week. Lots of fun was had with all 18 people. There were also several rainstorms. Good thing for trailers and awnings to keep us dry. Grandma brought quite a few crafts for the kids to do. The first one was painting birdhouses. They also tole painted some animals. Kasen was officially Lincoln's best friend at camp. He would refer to him as "my friend." "Where's my friend? And wha...

Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Can you say wind damage? We came home from a movie to discover that the wind took a toll on our roof. We have been dealing with the insurance on this one. The wind also shredded our trampoline cover and threw it 30 feet, but it was salvaged. We sold our rental property on May 15th. Scott was so excited that he bought us "Happy I'm Not A Landlord Anymore Donuts" the next morning. Cute Sterling graduated from Bengal Paw Preschool. The black and white photo is his class. Goodbye ba...

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Cherry Hills and Lagoon. The Paxtons went camping up north this year to Cherry Hills in Kaysville. Scott's parents, us, and Bryan and Candaylyn's family went. We had a great time! We arrived on Father's Day after church. We walked around and explored the park. Madison entertained my kids. Best niece award! Then we played croquet and Sterling had fun with his remote controls. Monday morning we were ready to play in the park with all day passes. And swim did we ever! The biggest h...

Sunday, December 21, 2014. I was proud of my two school aged kids for entering Reflections this year. The theme was: The World Would Be A Better Place If:. Makayla entered 3 categories; Sterling just 1. Here are their creations. The world would be a better place if everybody had a cat. If everybody had a cat, the cat would get gophers and mice. Cats would teach you to be more calm. I love my cats. Do you have a cat? There was an awards assembly where they were recognized for their participation. We went ...

Thursday, May 8, 2014. Sterling went to Kindergarten Orientation. I can not believe he will be old enough to go to school this fall! We are still deciding whether to send him or hold him back for a year. (Birthday June 23rd) Right now we are leaning toward sending him since they changed the mission age to 18. Hmmmm. decisions, decisions. Makayla spent her allowance on a rock treasure hunt kit from Toys R Us. Our neighborhood preschool ventured out to Liberty Park for a picnic. Looks like her note worked!

Sunday, November 16, 2014. October was filled with 5 fun filled trips to Frightmares. We are a Lagoon loving family! The best part was how Lincoln was tall enough to go on several bigger rides this year. At the end of the season our kids measured 37", 42", and 49". With a bow in her hair, Makayla could even go on a few adult rides. The weather was pretty awesome this month too. We didn't even have to wear hats and gloves like some years past. We had an enjoyable family outing to the Box Trolls. And our o...

Saturday, August 8, 2015. We escaped the July heat by camping in Woodland, Utah from July 14th through the 18th. It was a good little getaway with lots of fun packed in. For a new spin, we took our bikes and rode around the campground and a side-street. The kids played in the sandbox. And rode their bikes around. Went swimming a few times. And played laser tag and frisbee. We took a day and traveled to Evanston, Wyoming. (About an hour away.) Sterling found his dream car at a firework stand. We celebrate...

Paxton Blog: January 2015

Friday, January 16, 2015. Our cats are getting along fine. Gizmo preferred to hang out in the tree. And Gizmo and Rosco cuddle often. Gizmo still has a pee problem. I caught him peeing on our tree skirt and he soiled half of it! And he peed so much on our love sac that we had to give it away. If he wasn't so cute and friendly, we would have returned him already. :(. Went to the Festival of Trees and enjoyed the scenery. Made some arts and crafts there. Attended the ward Christmas breakfast which was fun.

Saturday, February 7, 2015. January started off with my college roommates and I meeting up to go to lunch. It was refreshing to see my friends and roomies from 13 years ago and catching up. I'm glad we keep in touch. Cottonwood Heights turned 10 years old and they had a celebration. Sterling is pointing to our property. They had an art contest for the kids. Makayla ended up being one of the finalists! There was also a carnival with fun games, prizes, and bounce houses. My kids were thrilled! And I love t...
