Mr Snowdon's 'Great Gatsby' Blog. Friday, February 27, 2009. Chapter 1: Introduction to the Characters. So far the book has been somewhat interesting. I have met who I believe is the main character of the novel, Nick Carraway. The book is written from his perspective (first person). He has just moved to Long Island (a suburb of New York city). He visits the home of his cousin Daisy and her husband Tom. They live in a very large home, complete with a butler. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

We finally got to meet the mysterious Gatsby, whose first name is Jay. I feel like this is not your typical 1920's first name. He is a very very wealthy man and judging by the description of his home, he has a very rich taste in decor. I keep picturing his massive mansion beside Nick Carraway's tiny rental home.
