The Chef In Progress: August 2011

http://www.thechefinprogress.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

The Chef In Progress. Monday, August 29, 2011. I decided to make an eggplant stew the past weekend. With all the Hurricane preparation going on, I couldn't find any eggplant. So I got one normal eggplant, 2 Japanese and the rest were zucchini. I followed Najmieh Batmanghilij's recipe in "The Food of Life" Book. So at first I made my stew with chicken. The mistake that I made was that I didn't follow her recipe too close so I added more water than needed. That caused the stew to be a bit blend. Picture Wi...

The Chef In Progress: Kale

http://www.thechefinprogress.blogspot.com/2012/04/kale.html

The Chef In Progress. Monday, April 30, 2012. I have never had Kale, it always looked too hard to chew and I am not a big fan of tough Green things. I thought I would give it a shot, it might work. So I did it and Hallelujah! I took the leaves off of the steam. Then dries and sprinkled with Olive Oil and salt. Left in Oven 300 for about 20 minutes and my Kale was ready! My dinner tonight was Trout and Kale Chips! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Places I find Peace. For the Love of Cooking.

The Chef In Progress: Chicken Pad Thai

http://www.thechefinprogress.blogspot.com/2012/04/chicken-pad-thai.html

The Chef In Progress. Sunday, April 8, 2012. Practice makes perfect. That is true. However, in this case all I needed was actually going to a Thai restaurant and order Pad Thai so I would really know how it looks like. With that being done, today's Pad Thai was a success. I used Rachel Ray's recipe. I know. Don't judge me. Just remember to make triple amount of the sauce. It is better. Colorful and so fragrant! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Places I find Peace. Fake Plastic Girl: December 2014

http://newnewsha.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Stand your ground and fight . Wednesday, December 03, 2014. My sport in college was trekking and mountain climbing, anytime I got a chance I would go and spend days in mountains with my friends. When I moved here in 2007, I immediately realized that I needed to find a new hobby. Something extreme and challenging, new goals. I was never a runner, nor a cyclist. Growing up in Iran as a girl makes developing those sports very tough. I only knew how to swim breast stroke and that was it. My bike was too smal...

The Chef In My Head

The Chef In My Head. The Chef In My Head. Thursday, June 26, 2014. I received a phone call from a dear friend to ask about a recipe of baked zucchini I served over a year ago. Wow! The Chef in Progress. It is never too late. October 28, 2013. Newsha The Chef in Progress. This is not a Persian dish, but we do have something similar to this. Instead of Tahini sauce we use yogurt. My friend Asa brought me this amazing cook book called “Jerusalem”. I absolutely love this book, yes I do read cooking books for fun :). I picked Sabih out of this book. And we really enjoyed the taste and also the smell. Lovely. Meanwhile I boiled two eggs. Kalam Polo (Cabbage and Rice). October 13, 2013.

At Home With The Chef In The Hat. Behind the scenes with The Chef In The Hat. Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Today i made a smooth butternut squash soup. It was just what we needed after all this cold, gloomy weather. Good for warming up the body and soul. Pre-heat oven to 350. Take one butternut squash (approximately 2 pounds). Bake whole with skin on until tender to the touch. Put 3 tablespoons of butter into pot. Melt butter to white, foamy stage. Add sliced onions to pot. Cook until tender translucent.
