Growing in my heart. Saturday, July 4, 2015. 4th of July 2015. We began our day with a couple of races! I ran the Firecracker 5K. I was shocked that I got a personal best at high altitude, without working out the past few weeks. Mark came to watch with the girls and so we stayed with a couple other friends for the children's race. After the races, a parade started from the same park.bonus! So we stuck around. Growing in my heart. Sunday, June 21, 2015. Father's Day in the Mountains. We are blessed to be spending some time this summer in Fort Collins, CO. So we just spent the majority of Father's Day weekend in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Mark and I absolutely love hiking and are thrilled we can now share that with the girls. They're doing great hiking, and we're exhausted from carrying them! But it's definitely worth it. What is something dad always says to you? How old is your dad? Because we got noses.

Growing in my heart. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Two years ago today we entered an orphanage outside Beijing and changed a little girl's life forever. We scooped up our little Emma Hope, the one we had been longing and praying for a very, very long time. The following day she became our daughter legally and officially. She joined our family and we are forever grateful for this gift God has entrusted to our care. I can't wait to see what the coming year brings! We celebrated with new shoes and ice cream!

In tears tonight I spoke the words, just so that she'd hear them. "Your dad and I love you so much. We're doing what we think is best. Tomorrow will be a hard day for you. Growing in my heart. Thursday, November 20, 2014. OT, PT and Speech. Part of Elsie's recovery has been to go to therapies. Thankfully we got her right in to a wonderful facility that's really close to my parent's home. So, twice a week she has occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy all in a row. Each one lasts a half hour and she's done really well with the guidance these ladies provide. She's also working on squatting, going down a step, and keeping her heels down when she walks.

Sometimes, when the weather is warm and sunny after months of not, and there's a week of rain ahead, you just have to set aside the to do lists and get out.
