THE EDEN ANGLER: November 2014
http://theeden-angler.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. The Class of '13. We're certainly paying for the dry weather that we had during August and September - it's hardly stopped raining since the trout season finished on 30th September! One low pressure system after another blowing in off the North Atlantic, along with the associated rises on the Eden system, has certainly curtailed our grayling fishing so far. But, braving the elements and persevering in the bigger winter flows has brought it's rewards on occasions. Ray was visiti...

THE EDEN ANGLER: July 2015
http://theeden-angler.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. The cooler weather and low water temperatures delayed the appearance of our true Mayfly (Ephemera danica) this year but when they did decide to show they came in good numbers. Ian is about to net a trout that took his nymph. Tim had his fly fishing debut and netted his first Grayling. A long spell of dry weather in the second half of the month brought our rivers to their bones, which made for challenging conditions. Fish were quick to move into their 'summer lies' and sport w...

THE EDEN ANGLER: July 2014
http://theeden-angler.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 10, 2014. River's low but it's certainly not slow. The long dry spell continues and the local rivers are down to their bones, but - although it has got tougher - the fishing has still been good on occasions. As I mentioned in my last blog: the secret sometimes can be just a case of employing the right tactics in the right water. Matt and Mel had their first taste of fly fishing recently. After morning introductions to the gear and casting etc, they had a short fishing session. Mel ...Blue ...

THE EDEN ANGLER: April days (part 2)
http://theeden-angler.blogspot.com/2015/05/april-days-part-2.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. April days (part 2). We had a decent spell of April sunshine during the third week of the month, which was perfect for Steve and Sue's visit to Eden and their very first go at fly fishing. They both coped very well on their debut - and both managed fish. We saw our first Grannom. Of the year on Roland's day on the Eden. The Grannom love a bit of sunshine and given the right conditions t. Hatches of Olive Uprights (Rhithrogena semicolorata). And Iron Blue duns (Alainites muticus) ar...

THE EDEN ANGLER: April 2014
http://theeden-angler.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Another week in Eden. It's great to see youngsters coming into our sport, after all, they are the sports future and without them it will die. It's quite worrying when you hear things like: the average age of a Salmon fisherman is 54 and the average age of a fishing magazine reader is 51 - I might stand corrected, but that's what I've been told. The week finished with a weekend in Eden for Harry and Rob. After a very successful Saturday session on Ullswater we finished the weeke...
