About This Blog…. The Missionary Baptist Tradition as Community. Asymp; Leave a comment. I am in the last few weeks of my second year of seminary. “My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?” | Something Old, Something New

Something Old, Something New. Discovering the Old Testament roots of the New Testament. 8220;My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me? February 15, 2014. The book of Psalms is easily the most quoted Old Testament book in the New Testament, accounting for at least 69 direct quotations alone. Take, for example, Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34, which both quote Psalm 22:1:. 8220;My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Another consideration is what Jesus had to say about His coming crucifixion. Clearly Je...

“And there was evening and there was morning…” | Something Old, Something New

Something Old, Something New. Discovering the Old Testament roots of the New Testament. 8220;And there was evening and there was morning…”. April 6, 2013. How awkward it seems; counting a day as beginning in the in the night. Even as we tell stories about our days, we most often begin with those things which occur after we wake. To reckon a day in this manner seems quite strange. And yet this is the manner that God chooses to measure His days of creation. I think there is more there, however. Praise God ...

“Until Shiloh comes…” | Something Old, Something New
https://pastoremmanueldavis.wordpress.com/2013/04/19/until-shiloh-comes
Something Old, Something New. Discovering the Old Testament roots of the New Testament. 8220;Until Shiloh comes…”. April 19, 2013. But what do we make of the phrase “until Shiloh comes…”? The Hesitant Gardener
Saturday, September 22, 2012. Welcome to the (tomato) jungle. Soon, it became evident that we had 2 problems:. Our beds were too shallow, meaning we couldn't shove the stakes into the ground deep enough in order to support the weight of our tomato plants. Our stakes were too short for our plants. Or, to put it another way, our tomato plants were just WAY TOO TALL (duh, because we are such adept gardeners). And by tall, I mean very. Tall These plants, when straightened, were well above my head. Http:/ www...

Even with a somewhat quiet summer, things still managed to get a little crazy over the past few weeks! thehesitanttraveler | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. May 29, 2012. What goes up must come down. At first the road was just level and wide but soon as we went further the landscaped changed. The roads became narrower, twistier, and a lot of uphill climbing.
