Jenn in her own words…. Blogging life – the best and the challenges…. Both Sides Now: What Happens When a Nurse Becomes a Patient? As an oncology clinical trial coordinator that ended up on the “wrong side of the bed” myself, I found Sherri’s column struck many familiar chords. Well worth a read. Sherri blogs at http:/ www.sherrifillipo.com. Once a nurse, now a patient is how Sherri Fillipo describes herself on her blog. I was born and raised in North Carolina about four. 1,436 more words. SURVIVING SURVIVORSHIP: January 2014
http://survivingsurvivorship.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 2, 2014. Cancer Survivor Calamities: Radiation Induced Neuropathy RIBP; RIPN; RFS; RIF. The 4 “Rs” are: RIBP (Radiation Induced Brachial Plexopathy); RIPN (Radiation Induced Peripheral Neuropathy); RFS (Radiation Fibrosis Syndrome); RIF (Radiation Induced Fibrosis). No doubt there are more. Tremors are noticeably evident as it takes me minutes to one-finger-type a few lines of text, only to go back and fix many mistakes. I’m dropping things, finding it harder to carry anything in ...

Saturday, September 28, 2013. 3rd Second Chance - Chapter 1.5. Earlier this week, I completed a bunch of transplant evaluation tests. In addition to the tests, were educational sessions; a consult with the transplant dietitian; and a consult with the transplant surgeon. The medical tests were:. 24 hour urine collection. Peed in a little tiny cup where they only got a little tiny bit from me - then they drew 22 vials of blood! CT Scan of head. Sonogram of the Abdomen and Pelvis. Patient is in the hospital...

Thursday, February 20, 2014. 3rd Second Chance – Chapter 2.1. Back to my pacemaker and heart issues for a moment. Remember that pacemaker lead I referred to in a previous post (3rd Second Chance-Chapter 2.0) that has moved from its proper placement on the left side of my heart to the center of my heart? It's now time to address that left lead gone rogue. Surviving, surviving survivorship, seems endless sometimes. Posted by A Fighter, Cindy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thursday, December 19, 2013. 3rd Second Chance – Chapter 2.0. That one day at the hospital turned into 4 days as I was then admitted to the Baylor University Dallas Hospital. They were determined to figure out why my low blood pressure was occurring. Have you ever seen it go that low? 8221; They all shook their heads no, and pushed me towards the bike seat. Trying to scoot my butt up on that seat, with a gown blowing open, and a tube hanging out of my neck, whilst having a low bp ‘moment’...I made it, bi...

SURVIVING SURVIVORSHIP: April 2013

Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Cardio Update - Update. I posted my "cardio update" a little too soon this morning. Today is a bad day. I didn't sleep well, first of all. Which isn't unusual, but it was worse than most nights. Slept till 2, tossed, turned, iPad, till 5, and then just said "F this" and got up. I have a wrist BP cuff. My BP was 88/65 which is not unusual for me. But my heart rate was 46. Huh? Now that I understand it, I feel better knowing. However, it was an uneasy feeling. When my pace maker/...
