Saturday, February 7, 2015. With spring approaching I need to use up the juice we have stored from last year. Normally my wife makes jam, but she is busy and I had to unfreeze this juice to use half to make wine. I am just using the basic recipe that comes with the packet of surejell. What didn't fit in the four pint jars tastes so good. Definitely tastes like grapes, but not the flavor of grape jelly from the store, a little hint if sour maybe. Not sure how to describe the flavor. 3 1 1/2 cups sugar.

Sunday, November 30, 2014. The Dogwood trail is a short trail open to the public on managed timberland a few miles outside of Woodville just off highway 190. I decided to take a break from my waiting for another deer to hike this trail with my wife and kids. I am hoping this will be the first of many. Tuesday, December 2, 2014. I started out with two 2-liter bottles full in each one:. 1 1-liter pure peach juice. 3 1 1/2 cups sugar. 4 1/8 teaspoon wine yeast. The next batch I will probably use slightly less yeast, maybe 3/32. At this point there is a heavy layer of sediment at the bottom. On the batches I made this time I let the wine sit in the fridge before I transfered it to another bottle to remove much of the sediment. Labels: E-Z cap brewing. Home made peach wine. Low budget wine making.
