May | 2013 | The Soy Bean
https://thesoybean.wordpress.com/2013/05
Archive for May, 2013. Think I’ll Pack It In…. It’s pretty rare these days that I get a chance to get out and explore, wandering around taking pictures with little sense of time constraint. I lucked out today though, having a random day off while the rest of my family had work/school, so I jumped in the car and I knew right where I wanted to go. Back again soon with pictures of my adorable children. Enjoy the respite! May 31, 2013 Categories: Uncategorized. Here’s a run down of what I planted:. 1 seed pa...

We went about three weeks without rain and temperatures pushing 90 nearly every here, but the vegetable portion of the garden continues to be productive. While we still have some hot days ahead, I feel like things are starting to slow down a bit. That could be due to my own thinking starting to shift and look forward to fall. As are these blue globe flowers — I can’t recall what their proper name is, but I planted them last fall and they survived the winter. My summer vacation is coming to a close, which...

Archive for November, 2013. I should have done this a while ago. All of my blogging energy is going towards documenting the building of our house these days. I’ll revert back to this blog once we finish the house in a few months. In the meantime, if you can’t live without my prose please head over to http:/ www.gaijinhouse.wordpress.com. May | 2015 | The Soy Bean
https://thesoybean.wordpress.com/2015/05
Archive for May, 2015. Oh the weeks are flipping by, as they always do. But this time of year a few weeks can represent pretty substantial change in the garden. Things are getting thick! It’s starting to resemble the image I had in mind when I planted it though, with the clover filling the walkway spaces with green and taking the focus off of all that driftwood. Zucchini will be ready soon. Chard is on the menu this week. Things are going well in the keyhole garden, but it needs some thinning.
June | 2015 | The Soy Bean
https://thesoybean.wordpress.com/2015/06
Archive for June, 2015. A lot of the plants that I planted in the spring are starting to produce, and it’s the first time I’ve experienced many of them. Nanking cherries are a lot smaller than I anticipated. I’m not sure if this is because it’s a young plant, or if this is it. They aren’t overwhelmingly flavorful, but hey, I’ve got cherries in my garden! Autumn olives…in June? Coming soon — blueberries. The pond is looking great now that it’s actually got some water in it. The wildflowers aroun...The sid...

Back on the HORSE…. January 22, 2014. 8230;and i don’t mean heroine. That’s right, it’s the year of the horse and that means (for no reason) I’m gonna actually start updating this thing again. I actually wrote a rambling post a week or so ago complaining about the world at large but I shortly returned that to “draft” status and it’ll probably never see the light of day again. If you caught it in that short window is was out there in the wild, good on ya. Documentation for posterity as it were. Anyway, I&...
Kawaii Kaba: Resolutions for 2011
http://kawaiikaba.blogspot.com/p/resolutions-for-2011.html
It's all about nothing. Random facts about me. 50 Book Challenge 2011. Drop ten kilos by the end of the year (preferably not gain any back over Christmas). Surprise surprise this happened! Well, not the last bit. I dropped 12 kilos, but gained 3 back during the holidays. But I am back on healthy eating tomorrow so not worried at all. Read at least one book a month for pleasure (doesn't count if it's for study). Easy peasy. But none since. Bad me! Might get a cut in January. Have a detox day once a month&...

Jeff in the Berkshires. Monday, June 2, 2014. I'm coming slowly back into running after an almost 6 month hiatus for a pn injury. It's really show and hard and difficult to remind me how daisy it was before, But, I'll keep plugging. Jeff- in the Berkshires. A wild cat and a bear? Goodness, it is wild Kingdom there. Id love to see a wildcat, but am leery of bears. Well.Im afraid of them to put it simply. Your garden looks small but I bet its mighty! Hope the deer dont reach inside and eat your produce!

Miiiii miiiii mii mmmgggggggg. July 16, 2014. Well, looky there. I’m done with classes until August 29th baby! I know many designers don’t like the idea of these crowd-sourced contests or designing on spec but as a new designer looking to get my foot in the door it’d be a great chance to have my designs selected so that I can put that in my portfolio or on my resume. I also took this terrible picture using my laptop’s camera to give an idea of what it looks like while I’m wearing it. July 2, 2014. Ar: pr...

Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Gosh - three weeks since I posted last! Where has the time gone? I hope you think I'm terribly busy with my shop and not that I've dropped out of sight. These weeks have been busy and I couldn't get my laptop and the internet connection working properly until about a week ago, so I had trouble getting to post anything or read any email. I realized something - I feel about modern art the same way I feel about rap music (who says that's music? Enough of the soap box. Arranged in ...

The garden is on autopilot now that we’ve had plentiful rain along with lots of hot and sunny days. I wish the weeding was on autopilot too, but I haven’t yet reached that level of forest garden zen. Here are a bunch of pictures from around the yard. It looks a bit chaotic, but almost everything growing there has some beneficial purpose. The Jerusalem artichokes, on the other hand, on going bonkers! Ultimately I hope to create a little more of a green screen to provide privacy. Even now though you...
