TEAM NORRIS: March 2012
http://norristeam.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 22, 2012. Who can believe spring is here? Team Norris has weathered the holidays and made it out of winter unscathed. We are trying to kick the cold bug out of the house and the warm weather has helped. Livy is calling things by the first letter of the name, or first two letters. Mom is "M", Dad is "D", phone is "ph", club house is "ch" and you get the picture. It's pretty cute. She is starting to read her books out loud and her little voice saying the words is breathtaking. Livy loves ou...

TEAM NORRIS: July 2009
http://norristeam.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. We think this is pretty typical of any new parents. But the routine gets you by but also locks you in, and once you're locked in sometimes you need a change. So we've been doing a bit of traveling. Muscatine, Iowa City, driving around Burlington, is enough of a change of pace to reset the routine. So what about the kids? We can hardly believe we are where we are, nearly 10 months after a lot of time in the hospital and experiencing how tiny our kids were. Burlington has been home...

News from the Pond. Little splashes of news about us. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. The blood and juice in my body work SOOOOO hard to build my poop, and to bring my food to my blood and to my poop.". Yes, I guess that is pretty much how it works, Primus. But I am also reasonably sure that the phrase "build my poop" has not previously been found in recorded English. You are a linguistic gold-mine. News from the Pond. Little splashes of news about us. Wednesday, January 31, 2007. I reread Animal Dreams. By Barbara Kingsolver and I am still recovering. I know it didn't hit me this hard the last time because until I reached a few pivotal moments I wasn't sure I had read it before. I remember enjoying it but inexplicably unable to keep it and Love Medicine. Posted by Mama Fish Head. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Keeping Linked To Our Peeps. The Roesch Family Blog. News from the Pond. Little splashes of news about us. Thursday, October 09, 2008. The Plot Against America. I have never read anything by Roth before and I have the impression that this work is somewhat atypical of his writing, not just in terms of subject but in style as well. But I would be inclined to try more Roth in the future if this book continues to be as good as its first three chapters have promised. Posted by Frog Daddy. Wednesday, October 08, 2008. News from the Pond: November 2009
http://pondnews.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
News from the Pond. Little splashes of news about us. Monday, November 30, 2009. First snow in Ottawa today. Not much, just a coating on cars and roofs, mostly, but it stayed cold enough that even at evening rush hour I could still see cars with ice and snow sliding off their roofs and trunks. And though the purple sled sits ready in the garage, there is no little boy to ask eagerly about its employment. There is no little voice full of excitement at the window, no one shouting "Look, Daddy, snow. The su...

News from the Pond. Little splashes of news about us. Sunday, December 13, 2009. Passing on the torch. I have never been even remotely near any sort of Olympic event. I may very well never be this close again. Ordinarily I would be curious about such an opportunity; I would want to have the experience, qua. You want me to smile and be a part of your overscripted shenanigans, too? I just moved along, against the flow of people rushing to get in place before the big moment they imagined was going to come j...
