A Drop in the Ocean: March 2011

A Drop in the Ocean. Wednesday, 30 March 2011. Morvah snaps close-up of sedum at Tol Creeg. Hubble snaps close-up of the Tarantula. Credit NASA, ESA. That's more like it! Mystified today as another salvo arrives with the post. This time, a neatly typed letter from Mrs Landlady, ostensibly formally accepting our notice, full of provocative little demands about how she expects the house to be left:. Following this frosty little request, she goes on to say that she has contacted the builder that I arranged ...

A Drop in the Ocean: December 2011

A Drop in the Ocean. Saturday, 31 December 2011. Wishing you all the very best for 2012 Morvah xxx. Friday, 23 December 2011. Blessings to the Gardener. Blessings to the gardener. Who turns his back to the rain,. Who bends his knee to soil and stone,. Whose quiet hands,. Cracked and black with juices. Whose master is daylight,. Whom the moon allows,. Who searches the skies,. Whose hunger tells the time. Whose blade is sharp. Who knows a spell. For every blight and blow,. Whose work folk attribute to God,.

Ann Bowes on the Moor. Another frustrated creative writer. A new day will dawn. Never had a better. Opening chapters from ‘Riding for Life’. Dogs on the Doorstep. Monthly Archives: May 2014. May 28, 2014. It was lovely to hear the familiar calls of all the moor birds earlier in the year when they returned to nest and rear their young. We seem to have more curlews than usual on the moor close to our … Continue reading →. Riding on the moors. Join 306 other followers. Not quite over the hill.

A Drop in the Ocean: July 2011
http://morvah-adropintheocean.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
A Drop in the Ocean. Sunday, 31 July 2011. Tuesday, 26 July 2011. Thick as a bag. Hereabouts they describe fog as 'thick as a bag' and that is what we encountered on the cliffs at Morvah when we took our painting stuff out at the weekend. So the painting's a bit impressionist - fine by me. It was still nice; quiet and still - the sea way below just shushing onto the rocks and a baby skylark in the bracken behind me frantically calling for his Mum and food. Fly away Amy, lighter and brighter. Many legends...

A Drop in the Ocean: November 2011

A Drop in the Ocean. Wednesday, 30 November 2011. Maths and other things. Whereas we had so much in common, he and I, my Mercury in Pisces renowned for its stupidity, was poor Dad's Waterloo! How's your mathematical ability? Here are a few Mercury in Pisces things and some other things from the last week. Research has shown that in speaking about their work, mathematicians use the words 'elegance', 'truth',and 'beauty' more than everyone else combined. I saw, as one might see the transit of Venus, a quan...

A Drop in the Ocean: February 2012

A Drop in the Ocean. Tuesday, 7 February 2012. Full Moon 18 Leo 7:2:12. Sunday, 5 February 2012. Very pleased today that the recent cold weather has abated enough to do our Imbolc ritual in relative comfort! We've been doing this long enough now so that it no longer feels contrived and we have a genuine gladness for it. A good blowy walk up Sancreed Beacon first, then quietly, past flocks of fieldfares down to the Holy Well. Beautifully adorned for the celebration of new energies. Friday, 3 February 2012.

1 A New-Born Baby. 4 The Sea…. 1 Surprised by a child. Strife's what you make it…. Billy Connolly says: “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.”. But it needn’t be anything as dramatic as that, either. I love the rain. 4 responses to “ #3 The Rain. June 27th, 2011 at 10:10 am. I agree rain is a thing of beauty. June 27th, 2011 at 10:40 am. A Drop in the Ocean: September 2011

A Drop in the Ocean. Friday, 16 September 2011. 16 9 11 Pluto in Capricorn Direct. Dark Lord, my tipple of choice today! What with the all pervasive general global dissolution - this year has been harsh! Today Pluto goes direct, leaving forever from a position 30 secs ahead of the square to my Sun, Mars will end its miserable tenancy of Cancer and move into Leo on Sunday so I'm daring to hope for somewhat better times. A toast then my friends - "To Pluto and Security Regenerated! Tuesday, 6 September 2011.
