http://chantillythrift.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Here are 5 thing that are currently on my list! I search for them every time I go to the thrift store. Love dresses and sunflowers and all I want is a cute little 90's sunflower frock! This has been on my list for a couple years, but I’m not giving up. This dress I found on pinterest. A nice worn denim jacket that I can restyle and make my own! I've seen some really cute tutorials on pinterest. 3) Sheep or Lion Figurine. Cute little lion statue found on etsy. The other day, som...

Typing Sunflowers: The Porch Garden
http://typingsunflowers.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-porch-garden.html
May 19, 2014. While I'm waiting for my tomatoes to actually grow in our garden, I've been busy on the porch creating a little urban haven. I read something a long time ago that mentioned the need to get outside and to actually see green things grow (a photo doesn't count). There is something therapeutic and calming about sitting or strolling in a garden setting - even an urban one. In my early 20s, I lived and worked in England. The British are known for their gorgeous flower gardens. I'm Brenda Steffen ...

Typing Sunflowers: Happy Earth Day!
http://typingsunflowers.blogspot.com/2015/04/happy-earth-day.html
April 22, 2015. I took this photo nearly a decade ago ( how is that even possible? At a small outdoor restaurant along the coast of South Africa. It's an old buoy, but it has always reminded me of the earth. The Sailor, the Peanut and I just returned from South Africa, and while we were nowhere near this restaurant, we at least enjoyed the outdoors as well as the spoils from Oupa's garden. We missed peach season. We introduced the Peanut to grass, which he wasn't too sure about at first. Is fun to pet.

Typing Sunflowers: Cloth Diapering Basics
http://typingsunflowers.blogspot.com/2015/05/cloth-diapering-basics.html
May 26, 2015. I didn't know much about babies before I had one, but one thing was for certain — I knew if I ever had a child, I'd use cloth diapers. Cloth diapers have come a long way since I was a baby. I'm happy to report that I've been using them nearly exclusively for almost 10 months now, without a single pin in sight. But I figured I could still possibly help a mother or two out there who is curious about cloth diapering. In the end, the old-fashioned very. Basic, versatile and cheap flats were the...

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. What to wear at the thrift store. It is so important to wear the right clothes to the thrift store so that your trip goes smoothly. I thought I would share with you guys what I think are the best things to wear to the thrift store. 1) Dresses and Skirts. This dress is one of my favorites. It's simple and pretty. Love these skirts- I actually got the floral one from Goodwill. They are also easy to take off which is helpful when you are trying on clothes. This is not the time to...

HaTs On HaTs On HaTs. November 13, 2015. On October 9th the world was changed forever. RIP St. Vincent. Back to the topic at hand, hats. Flat brim, snap-back, fitted, bucket, all sorts of different hats can be found at a thrift shop. Why should you buy a hat? Haven’t washed your hair in a week? Wear a hat. Many times, the right hat will make the outfit perfectly. For example, let’s say that it is prom night and you are going all christmas themed with your BFF but something’s missing. https://heycharlescanwegothriftshopping.wordpress.com/2016/02/05/birkenwhats
February 5, 2016. If you do not know what Birkenstocks are, where have you been the last 2 years? The weird, ugly yet extremely comfortable shoes have made some fluctuations in popularity in the last 50 years. They are now on an uprise and you may see people sporting Birkenstocks when you walk around your school. It has to be comfortable I mean look at that it has fur in it. Someone put way too much effort into this picture ahaha. What it’s like looking like an idiot for a night. Middot; February 5, 2016.

Technical Difficulties | Sifting and Thrifting
https://heycharlescanwegothriftshopping.wordpress.com/2016/04/07/technical-difficulties
If I write one more word about clothing I may just spontaneously combust. I’m going to talk about the uncertainty of the future and what I’ve learned truly matters in life. Deep stuff, I know. The future can be a very scary place if you take 30 minutes and really think about it. What will I end up doing? Will I be financially ok? Will my parents be proud? I’m sorry to all my classmates and to Mr. Wiseman but I am really tired and I am going to bed. A couple of questions i have for the world. A couple of ...
