Timeline – Corps Close-Up

https://carrieinpeacecorps.wordpress.com/timeline

A Peace Corps Journey from Jordan to Colombia. Because I found other blogs timelines exceedingly helpful during my application process, I kept track of my own. There is a line break between my COS of my service in Jordan and my reapplication. Note: because of my status as a PCJordan Evacuee, I did not have to re-interview or do some of the other steps of the application process, this sped up my application. September 2013 –. Began speaking with PC recruiters and attending PC events. Researched each post:...

A Peace Corps Journey from Jordan to Colombia. Posted by Carrie Shoultz. May 18, 2016. May 18, 2016. I thought I’d take this post to talk about schools in Colombia, since I will be spending a lot of time there. I’ve also realized I haven’t yet explained my primary project, so this will be the goals of this post. It’s text heavy so – you’re warned. There is, of course, a national teacher’s union here, called FECODE or. Federación Colombiana de Educadores. Education is divided into 5 stages. Ages 4 to 5).

A Peace Corps Journey from Jordan to Colombia. Finally a PCV (again)! Posted by Carrie Shoultz. April 23, 2016. April 23, 2016. I survived a second PST. I really thought maybe PST would be easier the second time around it’s not. In Barranquilla. Took my final LPI and hit the level I needed for swearing in. Final tests, medical wrap up, and final interviews. And then the day. That evening though oh man. All the kids from my neighborhood! After the pool party, I went home, showered and ate dinner. https://carrieinpeacecorps.wordpress.com/about

A Peace Corps Journey from Jordan to Colombia. Here is this, in case you missed my introduction post Here. After much consideration, I reapplied the Peace Corps and am now set to be a part of the 7th group of volunteers to serve in Colombia since it reopened after more than a 20 year hiatus. I chose Webster University’s Global MA in International Relations. I do recognize my blessings, but as much as I have traveled I do recognize what a small sliver of the planet I really have seen. The ubuntu project

What is the Ubuntu Project? A global exploration of people, stories and connection. How do we humans connect? How do we decide who we like and who we don't like? Who we'll offer help to and who's needs we'll ignore? In order for us to connect with one another, we need to know one another. In order to know one another we need to have conversations, to share stories, to really understand what lies beneath the surface and discover the human-ness in all of us. I am who I am because of who we all are,. I am w...

Live From South Africa!

Thursday, January 7, 2010. Apologies for the lack of blogging lately.we've been really busy! As you all probably know, we'll be home in exactly one week, and we're really looking forward to seeing everyone who we've missed so much since being gone. Again, can't wait to see all of you! Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Check out Sinethemba...
