From the Long house: Dishy Wednesday!
http://fromthelonghouse.blogspot.com/2014/10/dishy-wednesday.html
From the Long house. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. I still can't get myself to pick up the languishing sweater. I will try to work on it tonight. I think it just takes a bit to find where I left off and usually I am too tired to figure that out. I knit in the evenings while watching TV. Still on the last of the 3 trashy novels from the library, I will move on to something better after this one. My friend, Lisa. Came down to our quilt guild and gave a lecture on Prayer Flags. This is my KCCO. Watermark tem...

From the Long house: Wimpy Wednesday
http://fromthelonghouse.blogspot.com/2014/08/wimpy-wednesday.html
From the Long house. Wednesday, August 6, 2014. I am finally knitting on that darn sweate. It really isn't so bad, but the instructions aren't easy to read. I am reading the third in a quilting group series. It is okay. As I was putting off knitting the sweater, I messed around with my crochet hook and some cotton dishcloth yarn. I was trying to make some coasters. My first attempt curled, but then I figured out is it the exact size to cup around a beer bottle! This is my WIP wed. Post for this week.

From the Long house: Gift Bagging
http://fromthelonghouse.blogspot.com/2014/11/gift-bagging.html
From the Long house. Wednesday, November 12, 2014. I am still hooking away at gift bags. I am trying to make a set for my son and his family. The camo one is a bit smaller, the yarn ran out. But that is ok. Fun, easy, crochet project! I finally finished my trashy library books. I started on Beautiful Day bye Elin Hildebrand. A story of sisters and a wedding. I love how the different color ways of the cotton variegated yarn will stripe! I love watching the design emerge. Red rock in Kanab. This is my KCCO.

From the Long house: Back in the saddle!
http://fromthelonghouse.blogspot.com/2015/01/back-in-saddle.html
From the Long house. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Back in the saddle! I took a break from blogging over the Holidays. I got a batch of hats knitted up for gifts, but forgot to photograph them. Oh well. On to the new year. I made another 5 apples. As a gift for a friend! I have 11 in my bowl and may make one or two more. It has been fun to crochet again! I had enough leftover yarn from my batch of hats to make another hat, so I chose to do another Turn a square. Pattern. It is a fun knit! This is my KCCO.

From the Long house. Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Still on an apple binge. I am still making apples. I am also still on my chick lit book. I have only about a chapter left, but fell asleep while reading last night. I have also been crocheting coasters. That are available in my Etsy. Shop I had found a fun Christmas colored variegated yarn and thought it would work up well for Holiday coasters. Today was knitting group at Karen's house. She had her house decked out with all kinds of greenery! Watermark t...

From the Long house: Knitting progress
http://fromthelonghouse.blogspot.com/2014/10/knitting-progress.html
From the Long house. Wednesday, October 22, 2014. I was able to finish the knitting on my scarf. The pattern calls for it to be blocked first and then grafted. So it goes into the blocking pile. I am still on the paperback romance binge. Another light, easy read that I will forget as soon as I start the next book. Instead of working on the languishing sweater. So this is the blocking pile (well, what I could find). Two shawls that need blocked. I bet they will be gorgeous! This is my KCCO. I love knittin...

From the Long house: June 2014
http://fromthelonghouse.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
From the Long house. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. I am still plugging along on my Anniversary Shawl. In between stages of the Tour De Sock. I am almost finished with clue #4. Clue #5 is the last one and is only 20 rows long. But since this grows every row, it takes quite a bit of time to knit one row now. I love the title of my current read, "When in Doubt Add Butter"! So far it is a fun, light summer read. I knit a grocery bag. I completed my second stage. Tour De Sock socks! This is my WIP Wed. I got star...

From the Long house. Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Still on the crochet binge! I am still reading Beautiful Day. More of a summer read, but I enjoy her writing. A couple of years ago I saw this Cream and Sugar pattern for apple place card holders. I finished all four of the gift bags. I love the pooling on the last one! You never know what you are going to get with variegated yarn. I wanted to make some coasters. So I decided to try granny squares. The larger square is intended for a bottle coaster.
