This computer thing...: December 2006

http://thiscomputerthing.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

My thoughts on the computer industry in general and software development in particular. Saturday, 30 December 2006. This is my very first blog post, ever. I feel I need to do some public complaining and get some thoughts out of my system that has been nagging me for a while. Maybe I'll continue to write some more posts, maybe even some positive ones. :-). The future is bright, the future is SOA. Over the years a lot of people have done a lot of thinking on how to develop complex business logic. There...

This computer thing...: January 2007

My thoughts on the computer industry in general and software development in particular. Saturday, 20 January 2007. Platform for Internet based desktop applications. Lately some people have been predicting that applications that are installed locally on a user's computer are on their way out and will be replaced by online applications. When someone wants to e.g. write a document he surfs off to his favourite word processing site instead of starting MS Word. There are obviously benefits with this approach.

This computer thing...: Configuring a webapp

http://thiscomputerthing.blogspot.com/2007/01/configuring-webapp.html

My thoughts on the computer industry in general and software development in particular. Saturday, 13 January 2007. One thing I miss in J2EE webapps is a good way to configure the application outside the .war file. I want to be able to ship a .war file together with a properties file that the user can edit without having to unpack and re-pack the .war file. I also want to be able to deploy multiple instances of the same webapp in a container. Each having its own properties file. Stockholm, Sweden, Sweden.

Art, thought, and tea. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. For these first spring days. Digital collage, march 19, 2011. Dear friends, let us welcome spring! As we gather at the teahouse, let us hold the people and other sentient beings of japan in our hearts. together, let us sip cups of fragrant sencha tea and listen to the words of the poet. First days of spring - the sky. Is bright blue, the sun huge and warm. Carrying my monk's bowl, I walk to the village. To beg for my daily meal. And happily crowd around,.
