This Old Road: Experience, strength, and hope

http://www.thisoldroad1.blogspot.com/2009/04/experience-strength-and-hope.html

Thursday, April 23, 2009. Experience, strength, and hope. Some people think that because I no longer drink that I won a battle against alcohol. Nothing could be further from the truth. I fought the battle alright, but lost miserably. Only when I declared myself the loser could I have my life back. There was no victory, only surrender. I was surfing the blogosphere for bloggers who share common interests with myself and came across the attached video. Thanks for sharing, Craig. April 23, 2009 at 8:25 PM.

This Old Road: February 2009

http://www.thisoldroad1.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 13, 2009. Happy birthday, Mark. I'll continue to love and pray for you. PS I also met his mother on a Friday the 13th. That turned out not so lucky, but that's a whole other story. Friday, February 6, 2009. Please bear with a proud father bragging about his very bright little girl. At supper tonight I told her someone was coming to visit her tomorrow and asked if she knew who. "corin? She asked. "No, not Corin", I said. "Mark and Jessie! She knows Dan Zanes and Laurie Berkner by sight.

This Old Road: March 2009

http://www.thisoldroad1.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Winter, that is. I sure hope so. It certainly feels like it. Finally! We did lots of outdoor stuff this weekend. Jennifer and I pruned 15 apple trees and 3 pear trees, I cut down alot of brush, raked a little, and hauled branches to the compost heap. Lindsey "helped", too. The crocuses are blooming, the lilac bush has buds on it, dafodills are sprouted, the song birds are back. I think it's really spring! Sunday, March 15, 2009. Wednesday, March 11, 2009. In memory of Mom. We did...

Sunday, March 15, 2009. Tomorrow is my first day home with Lindsey. We have a Dr.'s appointment in Albany with her pediatric pulmonologist in the morning. After that we're touring another daycare on the way home. Jennifer goes to work after that and then it's Lindsey and Daddy! March 15, 2009 at 10:07 PM. Where are the house keys, truck keys and remote going to be? Seriously, you will have an awesome day together. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ain't you come a long way! This Old Road: Four dead in Ohio

http://www.thisoldroad1.blogspot.com/2009/05/four-dead-in-ohio.html

Monday, May 4, 2009. Four dead in Ohio. I have never forgotten this date. When I was 15, four students were shot and killed by National Guard troops at an anti-war protest at Kent State. University in Kent, Ohio. Nine others were wounded. I remember wondering who's army I should be more afraid of. Every year I remember the dead and pray something like this never happens again. Fork in the Road: April 2010

http://thisoldroad2.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Fork in the Road. I took the road less traveled, and that made all the difference.". Sunday, April 25, 2010. I stopped to get a cup of coffee on the way to work the other day. A well mannered kid (18-20) who was also getting coffee said "Good morning, Sir." As I absentmindedly looked for a pastry to go with my java we bumped into each other. "Sorry, sir", he said. We got in line at the same time, he just a step ahead of me. "Would you like to go ahead, sir? Yes, sir. Does the haircut give me away? Marrie...

Fork in the Road. I took the road less traveled, and that made all the difference.". Sunday, August 16, 2009. Half a million strong. On my old blog, no one responded to my posts on rock-n-roll history. Still, I can't let the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock music and art fair go unmentioned. I was 14 at the time and asked my mother if I could go. "HELL NO! When the national news showed the crowd and the mud and the traffic jams she said "And you wanted to go to that? This Old Recipe – Bringing the recipes of old into today's kitchens

Bringing the recipes of old into today's kitchens. Homemade Sloppy Joe’s Recipe. December 24, 2014. Here is a great little recipe that I found for Homemade Sloppy Joe’s. These were easy to make and the taste was great. I opted to put make sliders with them and put them on dinner rolls with 1/4 a slice of just regular ole American Cheese! 1 lb ground beef. 1 cup diced celery. 1/2 cup diced onion. 1 tbsp brown sugar. 1/2 tsp dry mustard. This Old Repo | Just another WordPress.com weblog

Just another WordPress.com weblog. February 2, 2011. For almost as long as I can remember I’ve wanted a bay window with a comfy window seat. This is because I grew up near but not in San Francisco, bay window central, and yet never lived in a place with one:. So we decided early on that this house would get one. This project took a long time, from the end of August until now, though of course we weren’t working on it the whole time. The first stage is to cut a hole in the side of the house. Crazy! There&...

This Old Royal Oak Bungalow - Remodeling and Living in an old Royal Oak Bungalow

This Old Royal Oak Bungalow. Remodeling and Living in an old Royal Oak Bungalow. Blue Glass Tile Backsplash. November 12, 2013. A blue glass tile backsplash. It seemed so easy really when designing the kitchen. We are both big fans of blue and really wanted to go with glass. We figured we would pick something up at Home Depot and be on our way. It turned out to be the most difficult decision of all. It was starting to get a little frustrating at this point. We searched online, but not being able to s...
