Striped Pants and Cowboy Boots. Just another WordPress.com site. Winter Wonderland →. Vienna: Ain’t No Party Like a Hapsburg Party. January 11, 2012. Melange and apfelstrudel. Nothing else needed. My travels this year have been decidedly Hapsburg themed: Prague, briefly the seat of the Hapsburg Empire; to Krakow, the largest city of Austrian Poland. Orchestrated the Concert of Europe. The worlds most prestigious chivalric order; and the imperial regalia for Maximillian I of Mexico. Hofburg Palace at dusk.

Striped Pants and Cowboy Boots. Just another WordPress.com site. My future home…check it out. →. Not so winter wonderland. January 28, 2012. OK, so we’ve had enough winter now. This week, the high in Warsaw is going to be around 16 degrees Fahrenheit. When it’s dark (most of the time), it will be hovering in the single digits. On the other hand, when I check the temperature in Astana (my next post), I see that the high is -20 Fahrenheit! So really, nothing to complain about in Warsaw at all. Follow &ldqu...

Just another WordPress.com site. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. April 23, 2012. So this post is LONG OVERDUE but here is my trip to Uruguay…. First we booked our flights. Then they got cancelled. Then we got on a plane… arrived in Montevideo, Uruguay. Smush everyone into that car. Drive to Punte del Diablo. Then we drove to Punte del Este…. But then we found a gem of a place. It’s like Malibu. But it’s called La Barra. Then it was Easter Sunday! A beachy Sunday was just what we needed.

Tales of a Traveling Teusink
Tales of a Traveling Teusink. Tuesday, June 2, 2015. June, How I Loathe Thee. June is the worst. Seriously, I hate it. As a teacher, I hate June because I say goodbye to students…some who are leaving for good and some who are simply leaving my daily life. Sure, I teach middle school now…it shouldn’t be as emotional or hard since most of my students will still have me for math next year. But not all of them will. That’s reason #4 for June being my least favorite. Reason #3 is the unknown of summer. You wo...

Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Why did the cow cross the road? Sometimes I think the joke here should be "Why did the cow cross the road? Possibly the best answer would be "to stop traffic." Other possibilities include:. To get to the garbage pile. To add an obstacle to the road. Because it thought someone had food for it. Because there is less traffic in the middle. Because it was time to wander home. All the other cows were going there. To test driver's reactions. It believed in free range grazing. Is what we w...
