It must have been either a miracle or a serious bug in their booking system as SAS had about 5,000 customers stranded in London waiting to get home. Anyway, we snapped that ticket as quick as lightning and managed to get to Sweden in time for Christmas. We have a lot of very pretty and snowy photos from our Christmas trip to Arctic Sweden. The Amalfi Coast is supposedly one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline in the world, sheer mountainside plummeting into the sun-sparkled sea. And it was truly amazingly beautiful. We visited for 9 days in November 2008. Hiking, swimming in the bay of Salerno, eating good food and drinking local wine. Going for lunch at the famous Da Gemma trattoria in Amalfi town. They really have excellent food in the Campania region of Italy. The home of pizza, pasta, buffalo mozzarella and limoncello.
