Everything Douglas Bond writes is a fascinating read." Joel Belz, WORLD Magazine. Friday, August 24, 2012. Last day in London- more food! We had a delicious final dinner at the Hyde Park Hilton and good fellowship reprising the whole. This has been a delightful group to spend these ten nights and eleven days with! I'm blessed hat they wanted to follow Mr Pipes (just for the record, I'm not Mr Pipes just his creator) to all of these charming, backwater, and wonderful places. Now thank we all our God.

Everything Douglas Bond writes is a fascinating read." Joel Belz, WORLD Magazine. Friday, July 17, 2009. Calvin growing up at Noyon Cathedral. I feel like I haven't given Notre Dame, Noyon, the cathedral that is a stone toss from Calvin's birthplace (and across from our hotel), where his father worked for the bishop, Charles Hangest, and where it is. Chapter 4 below. Picture Calvin at 12-years old receiving his first benefice in this place. Eloi, 7th century goldsmith turned bishop of Noyon, patron saint...

Everything Douglas Bond writes is a fascinating read." Joel Belz, WORLD Magazine. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Calvin Escapes from Paris. Er I find it impossible to believe that devout teenage Calvin did not cross the street many times and attend mass in this church. He wrote little about his own life, so there is no written record of this, but one only needs to visit this incomparable church to believe that Calvin, committed papist that he admits he was in his youth, did not often enter these walls. To help ...

Comments and recommendations for books for reading to children, particularly books on the bible, history and good fiction. Monday, December 19, 2005. The Children's Hour, H W Longfellow. Here is the poem that inspired the title for this blog. I was first introduced to it through the writings of Doug Phillips at Vision Forum. Which I warmly recommend. Between the dark and the daylight,. When the night is beginning to lower,. Comes a pause in the day's occupations,. That is known as the Children's Hour.
