Vision of Hope still relies on sponsors to pay the salaries of teachers on its pay roll. It only costs $35 each month to pay for one teacher. This sum enables up to 350 children to receive a free education, which is one precious opportunity to build a better future for themselves. Building a school block. Clothing and shoes for children. School requirements i.e., books, uniforms for sponsored children attending government schools, stationery and Zambian syllabus readers. Food stuffs to feed children.

Vision of hope is a Community Based NGO founded on Christian principles and values of humanity/mankind by Sunday School Teachers of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) in Lusaka Presbytery. It was born out of compassion to help, defend and address the needs of the poor, especially the orphans and vulnerable children. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the father is this: "To visit orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27).

To provide education to OVCs through community schools. To empower older orphan with survival skills and knowledge to sustain their lives. To eradicate all forms of child labour amongst OVCs. To increase OVCs access to good health care recreation and education. To reduce the high rate of HIV/AIDS and other killer diseases amongst OVCs through health education and awareness campaigns. The George compound is situated 10 kilometers in the Western part of the City of Lusaka. The compound started as an illegal settlement area around 1964 soon after independence. Most men are employed as security guards, some as semi skilled plumbers while a majority of them engage in part-time or casual jobs. Women supplement their husbands income by brewing illicit beer popularly known as "kachasu" or by vending as small-time marketers. Site donated by InterConnection.
