We tell the stories of everyday men and women lives of ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Each character is meticulously researched and written in order to accurately represent what life was like during that time. It all began on a snowy Syracuse afternoon, in a sold out university theatre. Four MFA acting students were asked to explore the Civil War from the view of the common participants to learn and portray the past from a personal perspective. They read diaries, historical texts and documents. They snuffed the powder at Franklin and Nashville’s 135th Anniversary reenactments, and they slowly became their new characters men and women provided a living voice a century after their time.
