Hammer Time: June 2014
http://kansashammerschmidts.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 26, 2014. The beauty of my life, is that to the ordinary eye, it's far from beautiful. It is full sticky situations (and sticky counters), long practices and inconvenient work meetings, trips to the doctor, and daily chores. And yet, when I take a closer look at all the fun, crazy, and utterly frustrating moments I am reassured that the beauty of life is found in ordinary days. Suspected that often the only difference between an ordinary life and an extraordinary one is perspective.

Friday, October 3, 2014. I have 942 Pictures On My Phone Right Now. And the stress of picking my favorites is just too much, so feel free to jump ship now if you don't want a play-by-play of the second half of our summer accompanied by entirely too many pictures :). A few from our vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks. The rest of our summer was spent fishing, and laughing and letting imaginations run wild. And yes, painting our house. And just like that, school started again! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Hammer Time: So Much.
http://kansashammerschmidts.blogspot.com/2014/11/so-much.html
Thursday, November 27, 2014. So much to be thankful for. Last weekend we were all snuggled in the living room, piled in blankets and out of the blue Shay said, "Mama, do you like kids? Dain and I laughed and laughed (because it sounded a bit like an accusation), but I said, "What do you think? She said, "Well, you have us, so you must! We have also have also taken to playing "Would You Rather" with Shay. It goes something like this. Then maybe both.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Hammer Time: Reflections
http://kansashammerschmidts.blogspot.com/2015/01/reflections.html
Sunday, January 4, 2015. Rest assured that I have not lost my tease-worthy cheery disposition, but admittedly I approach the winter months with a sense of obligation: Must trudge through until spring! I feel like I owe my dear third graders a hug and reassurance that my energy and patience levels are recovering thanks to a much needed two-week winter break and transition into the second trimester with a baby on board. I've been reading a new book by one of my favorite authors, Katrina Kenison, who writes...

Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Thanks to a structural leadership conference, Dain and I got the chance to travel to Charleston earlier this summer. For those of you keeping track, this is our first (real.out of state.kid free.no other people involved) trip in a looooong time. We moved at a slow pace, and ate, and talked, and ate some more, and laughed a lot. And nearly stepped on this guy! Here's the modest plantation I selected for our retirement home:. Grandkids will love it, don't you think? The area was bea...

Wednesday, July 2, 2014. We spent a good chunk of June at the ballfields watching Kale in action. When I look back at previous year's photos, he looks so much bigger, but compared to other kids in his league he is pretty small. (Small but mighty! The girls didn't seem to mind all of the games because they have plenty of friends we lovingly call "the siblings" to keep them entertained. They are a funny bunch, I tell you! The kid loves all things sports related. Kale created all sorts of things with his le...

Wednesday, January 1, 2014. December was filled with moments that I thought my heart might burst with happiness (and moments I feared my head might explode from noise). Funny how the holiday season can do that to a person! Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

Hammer Time: February 2015
http://kansashammerschmidts.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Finding Joy Amidst the Pain. About a decade ago I was a senior in college. I was a girl with a checklist.a schedule for how my life was going to lay out. I have always been a person who likes to know what's coming next; a planner by nature. I dare say that I was self-centered enough to believe that I alone was in control. Life is funny that way. Is so much greater than our own. It's a mantra that I, that WE have carried from that day on. Our sweet children, who can, mostly cert...
