Stops & starts along the journey to Terra Madre | Wanderlust Road
https://wanderlustroad.wordpress.com/2010/09/09/terramadre
Flavors, stories and snapshots from travels along the wanderlust road. Stops and starts along the journey to Terra Madre. This entry was posted on September 9, 2010, in culinaria. It’s something I’ve told myself I should attend regardless of what it takes to get there –. The cost, the time away from work, etc. 8211; to convincing myself that it can wait another two years (and hoping that it will indeed continue)… and all the way back again. What’s all this about? Carlo Petrini speaking at Terra Madre.

Flavors, stories and snapshots from travels along the wanderlust road. Scenes from Terra Madre. This entry was posted on November 6, 2010, in slow food. It’s taken me some time to get to posting about Terra Madre. Terra Madre was made up of over 5,000 representatives from 160 countries. A new friend from Benin, Africa - Pascal Gbenou, a rice farmer, advocate, president of the Conseil de Concertation des Riziculteurs du Bénin - and teller of good stories. Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food International.

Flavors, stories and snapshots from travels along the wanderlust road. 9/11/01, A long night in Doolin…. This entry was posted on September 11, 2010, in travel. Today it seems appropriate to re-post a piece I wrote after getting home from Ireland after 9/11. At the time it was shock, then comfort in the company of strangers and the deep-seated need to connect. The evening of September 11th found us in a crowded pub in Doolin. From 9/11/01, A long night in Doolin…. Igougo.com, March 2002. Click to print (...
April | 2011 | Wanderlust Road
https://wanderlustroad.wordpress.com/2011/04
Flavors, stories and snapshots from travels along the wanderlust road. Posted in April 2011. A beginning: On fear. Gratitude. Being here. For me, a blank page is a major mental hurdle. It requires a lot of focus and discipline to face it and start writing. The problem is I love to write. I love getting lost in the words and the sounds of them, the imagery, the sense of place and nostalgia all waiting to … Continue reading →. A beginning: On fear. Gratitude. Being here. Out on the pontoon while home in MN, Rice Lake. The dock at Kay and Tim’s, Rice Lake. A view through the door of the old chapel – Collegeville, MN. The best holiday of the year!

Wanderlust Riding
Monday, August 17, 2015. Honda: Live Unlike The Others. Last month, I discovered a series of videos by Honda. They talk about their history, the Dakar Rally and the new Africa Twin. My favourite is the second video in the series where they featured motorcycle tourers who are going or have gone on long journeys. It is basically a motivational video to inspire all those aspiring adventurers out there. On a side note, only 2 more weeks till my next big adventure where I'll be riding to Koh Samui and back.

The All-American Swashbuckling Wanderlust Romp in F Sharp. Just another adventurous jaunt into Mother Liberty’s Bosom of Freedom! Indiana is for Friends. September 24 to 25, 2008. Ah, The Crossroads of America. Honestly, we didn’t expect much out of a place that prides itself on being the thing standing between you and the things you actually want to see. But that’s the thing about lowered expectations — it takes very little to exceed them. Like Sarah Palin. Remember her? The Indiana capitol building.

Glittering, shimmering, occasionally understated…life. August 12, 2011. I’m (now) from Macon, Georgia! Posted by wanderlustrouslife under Uncategorized. I got into the highly coveted and competitive Radiology Technology program at a school here in Macon, and have now moved Roux and myself into our 100 -year-old home in the College Hill neighborhood of Historic Intown Macon.
