Walked and Was Not. December 29, 2014. The Light of the World and Hanukkah. I was able to spend some time with my nephew on the last night of Hanukkah. I told him the story and we lit the candles. We’re both Gentiles, but it felt good to share a story of religious persecution and of light overcoming darkness. He told his mother the entire thing later and he got it all right.
