Running 70 at 70: May 2011
http://70at70forheroes.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Running 70 at 70. Tuesday, 31 May 2011. Gargrave to Edale, how the day went. It was dark, it was drizzling and there was a fresh breeze that I knew from experience would multiply many times in strength once we were on the higher, more exposed sections of the run. Initially I had split the route into four equal length sections, but Ian had opted for a longer first leg so that the changeover of support could be located at a more convenient spot. By now the rain had stopped leaving behind a strong, cold win...

Pioneers' 55@55: 55at55 - The Future
http://55at55.justusuk.com/2009/06/55at55-future.html
Tuesday, 30 June 2009. 55at55 - The Future. This blog was always intended to be a “single issue” blog like my previous Bob Graham Round. And realised what else might be possible. I don’t know if I can combine frequent updates interspersed with more considered pieces but I am going to try to and also to reduce, a little, the “training diary” approach. Over the last few months, in particular, the question “Why do I run? May show a change in emphasis and our friends may be more than just a few now but our ...

Thursday, 11 June 2009. 55 at 55 attempt is on. I have had a very easy week running only once and fewer than 5 miles then, on Tuesday morning. My cold has forced a more sever taper than I planned but now I think I will benefit from the extra rest. Hope the weather holds, all the best :). 11 June 2009 at 15:21. Best of luck Ian. The weather doesnt look too bad for the weekend. Ill be thinking of you as I do Three Rings Of Shap on Saturday. 11 June 2009 at 22:13. 12 June 2009 at 04:19. 55at55 - The Future.

Pioneers' 55@55: August 2008
http://55at55.justusuk.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 August 2008. 15 miles, 950 ft run, 5 miles, 1100 ft walked. The 5 mile walk was a stroll up to Gaping Gill to the caving meet where, for a tenner each, you get dropped by bosun's chair into the cavern (the £10 includes the ascent too). Good waterproofs are recommended because it is cold wet experience and. Much as we prefer the outsides of hills to their insides. I feel more relaxed about this attempt than I did for all my previous attempts although tomorrow will change, I am sure. Thanks to...

Friday, 22 May 2009. Preparation for Ed’s “Joss”. Last Week: 51.2 miles; 8700 feet; 11:20:54. John Fleetwood’s day out gave us a second consecutive Saturday “all nighter” – not Wigan Pier or a Soul Night at King George’s Hall in Blackburn when we want a late night out! I hope, when we get back from Scotland next weekend we will have a photo to match the one below of Ed’s brother John in 2008 on the final summit with plenty of time left to descend to the finish at Greendale Bridge. Friday, 15 May 2009.
