Where in the world. The other day i set out on an easy enough mission: cross the syria-turkey border. the distance between aleppo, syria and antakya, turkey is only about 75 kilometers, but the entire process, from the door of one hotel to the next took, 10 hours. The bus company is going to arrange taxis at no extra charge! Shortly after we arrived at the hotel. Posted by Annie at 12:46. Where in the world. It's beginning to look a lot like christmas. That's right, here in japan, there are christmas decorations everywhere, the trees are all illuminated, i ran into a life size animated santa made out of balloons, and there was even snow on the mountains behind alexas house in the mornings! And "do you like president lincoln" and the best one "why is janet jackson so fat? Then it was off to school lunch at the junior high! I definately respect alexas job a lot. there doesn't seem to be...

Where in the world. It occured to me today (as i was sitting on a plane for my flight back from san diego) that i'm sick of flying, and i don't really want to do it anymore. it also occured to me that september 7th is a week from. Fact: an amazing 7% of the entire irish barley crop is used so that you and i can enjoy a nicely poured guinness beer! There really is no travel news. i will be leaving, as scheduled, in one week and two days. Posted by Annie at 00:35. My itinerary so far. Sept 7: cairo, egypt.

A Year in Japan. Monday, March 27, 2006. The outdoor pictures are from my first long (and painful) hike of the year- this is an old deserted restaurant that looks like a castle and some eerily blue river water. A year in Korea.

A year in Korea. A year in Korea. I'm now spending a year at home, living la vie boh. Links to this post. My host father, Mr. Shin, leaves to pick up his wife from her cooking academy and when they come home he is singing. It's a very emotion-filled song and his hands are slightly raised, head thrown back. I am in the kitchen to inspect the food my host mother has brought home from her class and he joins us. I am beginning to feel better when she asks me what the opposite of "you like" is. I had a very w...

I think the novelty wore off pretty quickly when we realised we couldn’t possible stomach a champers at this time of the morning and needed some eggy goodness to kick start our Sunday. And altho...

Where is she now? Sunday, July 26, 2009. Scuba diving with manta rays. Is most definitely one of the absolutely most incredible and surreal experiences of my life. I cannot believe that I almost didn't come over to the big island to do this dive. It is rated one of the 10 best dives in the world, and I cannot imagine something more impressive and awe-inspiring. It has been two days since the dive, and I am still mesmerized when I even begin to think about it. Monday, July 20, 2009. Friday, July 3, 2009.

Where Is Annie? | Around the world in 366 days.

Around the world in 366 days. July 2, 2013. And, frankly, we were burned out. Hank said he was done with field trips. He had had a lifetime of them in one year. Cat had missed her friends so badly during her year away, and they were the only people she wanted to be with.
