Monday, August 08, 2015. Sometimes I think about how I quit a career in bookselling and then started a career in online education. I don’t think that print is dead, or anything like that, but I also think bookstores have seen their growth spurt and are declining in the way that we all do over the span of our lives. By contrast, the online learning field is only recently starting to pick up speed. Older Entries ». Alexandria, VA 22307. Redefining what I think I want. Filed in things people want.

Meditations – Untidy Towns

A Slightly More Fully Explored Idea. I never had a problem with being weird. Only with the idea of what’s acceptable. At some point in my younger adult world I knew I was one of those weirdos and the path to surviving in a world that doesn’t support my strange ways was to accept that I was the weird one. Accepting Weird was the first step to changing the way the world works in small ways. Accepting who you are and knowing where you stand help immensely in figuring out the direction in which to grow.

Happiness – Untidy Towns

I believe in the power that imagination and creativity holds over each of us. I know that this power can be both positive and negative, depending on how we choose to interpret it, and how it chooses to present itself in our lives. In all my years of experiencing, growing, learning, and understanding, I have come to live by these truths:. I enjoy being alone the majority of my time. Though this is difficult by many social standards, it is a lifestyle worth fighting for. I know for sure now that my...I val...

9658; Further Reading. 8220;As Ackoff and Greenberg (2008) describe so elegantly, humans are hijacked very early in life by an educational system that was designed in the industrial revolution to educate workers to make the industrial wheel go around. Thus, education has become a commodity and the curriculum, chiseled in stone, is delivered by ‘experts’ from on high.”. Creative – Untidy Towns

http://wherewerewe.org/blog/category/creative

Allegory of the Cave. A life forgotten, tucked beneath the recesses of confusion and chemical awareness. Once I believed who I was, I understood. What I felt when I felt I was water flowing between crevices buried in mountains. I began to dig, and dig, but all I found was anger,. Strong red, dark red,. The kind of anger that makes you forget you were ever sad. They say that tunnels lead to hope. Mine thrust me into a world of sensual experience,. Though I want to, more than anything.

Where Where The Geek Girls Growing Up?

Where Where The Geek Girls Growing Up? Interviews with women about growing up nerdy. Hi I’m Bill Stiteler, and I’m your host for this podcast. When I was growing up, there were no geek girls. At least that’s the way it. In a small(ish) town in Ohio in the 1970s. While there were a lot of very smart women and girls, I never met any who were into science fiction, fantasy, comic books or any of the other geeky preoccupations that I or my handful of nerdy male friends were. where were you | september 11th, 2001

Where Were You When America Was Attacked? This site exists to gather the thoughts and emotions of everyday people to the events on and after September 11, 2001. Why must we record these thoughts? Wouldn't it have been wonderful to have known what everyday people felt when Pearl Harbor was bombed or what the nation was thinking when the word Vietnam was first introduced into our nation's psyche or when Kennedy was assassinated, and how those views changed as the events afterwards unfolded?
