Nathan was energetically showing us his stop, drop and roll skills when he rolled right into Claire. Somehow in the tangle of limbs, she hit him in the face and knocked out his loose tooth. Heard the phone ringing as I was putting the kids to bed, but decided to ignore it and let the machine pick it up. I hear a mumbley, kind of southern voice and think it's the insurance agent getting back to us. (Still waiting to finish a claim on damaged roof tiles from Christmas, but the roof just saw the light of day after two months under snow.). Stroke from Claire stressing him out?

Out of my Head. Random stuff no one but me really cares about. Thursday, March 19, 2009. Digging in the Dirt. I'm very psyched that the Obama's have decided to put a Fruit and Vegatable garden. In at the White House. Dan and I joined the group Eat the View. Blue, rasp and Blackberries. Marigold, Nasturtium and zinnias. A lot of similarity to the seeds I've bought for this year. Except I'm planting beets, something the President hates. Here's the start of our garden. I'm also thinking of joining a CSA.

Out of my Head. Random stuff no one but me really cares about. Saturday, April 25, 2009. A couple of things I've wanted to write about and they tie together nicely. Today we signed up for a farm share from a local Amish Farmer. 200 lbs of veggies from this list of what he's growing. Lettuce, Radishes, Beets, Onions, Peas, Potatoes, Broccoli, Squash, Carrots, Tomatoes, Cukes, Beans, Peppers, Sweet corn, Canning tomatoes, cabbage, pickles, cauliflower and garlic. Plus strawberries and 15 lbs of chicken.

Nathan came downstairs with a very satisfied smirk on his face and his hands cupped together this morning, tooth #2 clasped firmly between them. No blood, no crying, no fuss. He just yanked it out before getting out of bed in the morning. The tooth fairy is getting extra mileage this week. Well, that's more like it. I remember how fun it was when my teeth were falling out. It must be fun for you, too.

They had fun coloring eggs yesterday, although three of the eggs landed on the floor and got cracked. Unfortunately, I wiped the card while uploading photos and deleted all but this one shot of Claire. And you’ll see. Where’s the first clue. Where is the place. To wash your face. Go get your favorite. Don’t be a fool.

Out of my Head. Random stuff no one but me really cares about. Tuesday, February 03, 2009. Tentative Summer Vacation Plans. I officially have 10 days off from work, starting July 11 through July 20, to go to my High School Reunion. The question now becomes, how to divvy this time up between family, friends and fun and not be totally wiped out by the end. Or do I suggest a family get-together the first weekend, and spend the intervening week camping or in Vermont? Thoughts. Comments. Advice.
