Japandy: August 2010
http://japandy2010.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
I'm in Japan and my name's Andy. 24 August, 2010. An ex-girlfriend made him buy it. Sure, Kevin. Sure. Since this photo was taken I've added a pink pillowcase to the colour scheme, along with a matching pink bottom sheet. I needed the new bottom sheet because Kevin apparently bought a doona cover by accident instead of a sheet, and had been sleeping on top of that thing for far too long, with the furry leopard print blanket immediately above. Sorry Kevin, but I just couldn't pull that off. Turning left a...

Springtime for Hokkaido | The road is life
https://tsakai.wordpress.com/2011/07/11/springtime-for-hokkaido
The road is life. July 11, 2011 in Life in Mukawa. Since it appears that Summer has snuck up on me, I figured I’d write a little about what I’ve been up to over the past few months! In April, the new school year started, bringing with it new teachers to my schools. The new students were introduced to each school with an Entrance Ceremony, where they were welcomed by faculty, their families, and the older students. It was crazy to see my former 6th graders become 1st graders at JHS! 8221; haha SO embarras...

The road is life. Broken Bones and Insect Bites. August 8, 2011 in Did I Ever Tell You About the Time. So as always I’m late on updating my blog, but I thought I’d share some more of those Did I ever tell you about the time times🙂. I’m pretty sure word got out that it happened doing karate, but at least I tried to avoid it! Everything seemed difficult, and I was very happy to be able to use both hands again🙂. 2 thumbs up for the Summer HAJET meeting! I guess my broken thumb had one good use! Broken Bon...

The road is life. April 2, 2011 in Life in Mukawa. Again, I want to continue to urge you to donate what you can for the Japan disaster relief effort. A waterfall over the snow and ice. On the inside of one of the structures. It was made with snow and tree branches! It smelled like Christmas. Such a big structure!

I really can’t thank you all enough for the countless emails and facebook messages I’ve gotten filled with concern for my safety. Rest assured, everything is completely okay in my town, but I figured I should share my experience. Peace Winds Japan ( click here for link. Or Good Neighbors ( click here for link. This was the first earthquake, which I experienced when I was at home. A closer view f...

Winter in Mukawa | The road is life
https://tsakai.wordpress.com/2011/04/02/winter-in-mukawa
The road is life. April 2, 2011 in Did I Ever Tell You About the Time. I am going to follow in the Japanese’s footsteps and do my best to go on with life as “normal,” but I want to continue to urge you to donate what you can for the Japan disaster relief effort. Red Cross: http:/ american.redcross.org/site/PageServer? Pagename=ntld main&s src=RSG000000000&s subsrc=RCO ResponseStateSection. But it meant that I immediately noticed when the days started getting longer again. So all in all, winter has flown ...

http://japandy2010.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
I'm in Japan and my name's Andy. 19 June, 2010. Must mail this by 5pm. Must mail this by 5pm. These were the thoughts running through my head in November last year, as I ran to the post office at the University of Melbourne to send my application to be an Assistant Language Teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (Programme/Program, Tomato/Tomato.). My room was the one with 3 windows, directly above the entrance archway). NO TIME TO TALK, MAN! My application to the JET Program has begun.

Japandy: Stuff from months ago
http://japandy2010.blogspot.com/2010/11/stuff-from-months-ago.html
I'm in Japan and my name's Andy. 30 November, 2010. Stuff from months ago. Ok, so I haven't posted in three months. Hopefully looking back on a whole bunch of events will make it easier to boil them down to their most memorable highlights. That, and maybe I can't be bothered writing quite as much as when I first arrived in Japan. So, what was going on around three months ago, you ask? Anyway, another major attraction of the entire proceeding was the fireworks show down near the port area itself. Dan ...
