Saturday, June 27, 2009. Children confront you with your own stuff. All parents know this and as a new stepparent I'm starting to realize how true this is. What's interesting is my reaction to it all. I'm totally impatient and intolerant of this type of behavior. When I want to go to the store I don't want a 13 year old blocking my way (or Joyces). Monday, January 11, 2010. Afgelopen winter was het geweldig foto's maken. Op de heuvel in Sonsbeek. De halfbevroren waterval in park Angerenstein, Arnhem. Beeld van bevroren saamhorigheid. De groene bedstee in Mariëndal, Arnhem (voor de ijstijd). Takken boven dezelfde waterval. Roodborstje, de enige kleur in de wijde omtrek. March 18, 2010 at 9:08 AM. The bird on this picture is a male Chaffinch (Vink in Dutch) and yes he has a red chest. June 30, 2010 at 11:27 AM. Is het misschien een appelvink?

Sunday, June 28, 2009. Extreme schoonheid van Hawaii. Deze fotoos laten het contrast zien tussen het kale 'maan'landschap en de ontembare levenslust van de Hawaiiaanse bloemen. De vulkanen op Hawaii laten een scala aan kleuren zien. Deze foto in de vulkaan Haleakali op het eiland Maui is rond 9 uur in de ochtend genomen, toen het er nog stil en verlaten was. Deze krater is het resultaat van uitbarsting en erosie. Verbrande, gebarsten aarde in een rokende krater. Weet iemand soms de naam van deze bloem?

Sunday, August 16, 2009. Structuur in de natuur. De natuur inspireert me. Als je weet (waar) te kijken kijk je je ogen uit. Bij deze boom voelde ik me klein. Nee, het is geen speelgoedauto! In Hawaiï zijn de planten erg groot. Als je kamerplanten gewend bent weet je niet wat je ziet. Manshoge varensoort Laua'e genoemd in Hawaiï. Pele's haar: Pele is de Hawaiiaanse godin van het vuur.
