Emilie's Baby: November 2011
http://emilieandbaby.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 22, 2011. More nightweaning- a bad night, a better night. Well, good thing I didn't count on nightweaning getting easier! Saturday night (third night) was awful! The fourth night was so much better overall! Soothing him any other way wasn't working, so I sat up to nurse him, laid him down drowsy and he was out for two more hours! When he woke up at 6, I let him nurse in bed a couple more times before we got up for the day at 9. Saturday, November 19, 2011. Our bedroom is set up with a q...

Emilie's Baby: March 2013
http://emilieandbaby.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Good news and another evaluation. Gideon did great at his last two speech therapy appointments. He's actually said "my turn" and "open" while signing it. He's started vocalizing along with the signs- even if the sound doesn't sound anything like the word. He does the sign for "help" correctly and signs "eat" when he wants a snack. It's so awesome that he's communicating now! He even said "please" the other night when we asked him to! This was at the Seattle aquarium last week&#...

Emilie's Baby: October 2011

Monday, October 31, 2011. How I thrift and some tips for you! I'm by no means a pro thrift shopper. I know there are people who thrift and then sell the treasures they find online and make money. I do have some tips for the basic for family thrift shopper though! 1 Keep an ongoing list of things you need or want. I used to keep a note on my phone until my list started getting too long and then I switched to a small notebook I keep in my purse. 5 Don't buy things you don't need! Friday, October 28, 2011.

Emilie's Baby: August 2010
http://emilieandbaby.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 6, 2010. The funny thing is, I didn't research cribs because I'd already researched attachment parenting and knew that Gideon would be sleeping with us. I didn't research bottles because I knew that I would be breastfeeding. I didn't research strollers because I knew I would be wearing him most of the time (we did recently buy a stroller secondhand and use it infrequently on walks). I'll leave you with a picture of Gideon. This kid seriously gets cuter every day! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Emilie's Baby: October 2010
http://emilieandbaby.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 6, 2010. One of the things I researched before Gideon arrived was cosleeping or bedsharing. Most people use the terms interchangeably but cosleeping is having your baby or child in the same room but in a different bed. We bedshare, which means exactly what it says. Gideon sleeps right next to me all night. The benefits are many if it's done correctly. Encourages breastfeeding because nighttime breastfeeding is more convenient. Helps baby fall asleep more easily and stay asleep. And, Gi...

Emilie's Baby: July 2010
http://emilieandbaby.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 21, 2010. I started researching vaccines just a month or so ago. Since I had appointments with my midwife several times in the 6 weeks after the birth, Gideon was weighed and checked at those. He still hasn't been to see a pediatrician because the first appointment available when I called last month was in August! Must be a lot of kids in this town. But, as I researched more, I realized that I don't feel comfortable allowing foreign substances to be injected into my baby. Vaccines don...

Emilie's Baby: I'm reviewing things now!
http://emilieandbaby.blogspot.com/2013/04/im-reviewing-things-now.html
Wednesday, April 3, 2013. I'm reviewing things now! So, I discovered this awesome site called BzzAgent where you can get free stuff just for writing reviews and talking about the products you try out! So because I like free stuff, I joined. My first campaign is for Lysol Touch of Foam. They sent me a full size hand soap to try out and it's been sitting by my kitchen sink for several days. It really does make your hands feel soft and the foam is awesome- I've never seen a hand soap with foam so firm!

Emilie's Baby: Preschool starts tomorrow!
http://emilieandbaby.blogspot.com/2013/04/preschool-starts-tomorrow.html
Monday, April 15, 2013. Gideon is now enrolled in the special ed preschool three days a week! He'll be in a classroom of 4-6 kids, a special ed teacher and two assistants. There will also be speech and occupational therapists in and out of the classroom. There will be some challenges though- so far he hasn't done well with me leaving him places and class starts at 8 am Considering he doesn't normally wake up until about 8:30, this will definitely mean a change in schedule.
