Monday, September 5, 2016. READ READ. READ. I love this quote. It reminds me that reading is not simply a skill to be taught, but it is an invaluable experience to be cultivated. In 7th and 8th grade students will be reading both a wide variety of texts, but one of the most essential aspects of the the reading program is their independent reading. Students are expected to be reading books of their choice throughout the year; these can be fiction, non-fiction, novels, biographies, graphic novels, etc.
