Mindwalker review! - The readers corner
http://wordsfromareader.weebly.com/book-reviews/mindwalker-review
Mindwalker by A.J. Steiger. WHAT IF YOUR PAST COULD BE REWRITTEN? It is the future. There is no war, no social unrest, no painful memories…and no freedom. The government maintains peace and tranquility by brain-wiping all disturbing experiences. And is there more to Lain’s father’s suicide than meets the eye? Meet Lain, and follow her into a dystopian world of memory modification, and a society of surveillance, stigma and secrets. In this story we have the main character Lain, a 17 year old Mindwalker.

Walker Fiction Fest! - The readers corner
http://wordsfromareader.weebly.com/me/walker-fiction-fest
Yesterday I went to Walker Books, along with other bloggers, to hear from some authors and about new books they are going to be releasing this year. It was my first bookish event and it was so fun. I loved meeting bloggers and talking to people that I know on Twitter, plus finding out about all these new books! That food though ;). We got to hear from 3 different authors and about their books that are coming out this year. Is either brother right for Carla? Publication date - 6th August 2015. For Matthew...

The Watchmaker Of Filigree Street. In 1883, Thaniel Steepleton returns to his tiny flat to find a gold pocketwatch on his pillow. But he has worse fears than generous burglars; he is a telegraphist at the Home Office, which has just received a threat for what could be the largest-scale Fenian bombing in history. Google Cookies, Privacy and Terms. Wednesday, 31 August 2016. What Remains of Me by Alison Gaylin. I think the premise skirts precariously close to the reality of the really dark underbelly of Hollywood's sexual deviants. People in positions of great power who abuse children, teens and vulnerable people. Young people who are enamoured by the idea of fame and fortune. What Remains of Me may make you question whether her actions are those of a person without a moral compass or perhaps those of the absolute...

Google Cookies, Privacy and Terms. Monday, 26 September 2016. Blog-Tour: The Deviants by C.J. Skuse. Today it is my pleasure to be part of the blog-tour for The Deviants by C.J. Skuse. It is a story which will make you root for the merry band of misfits, and I think it will change the way you perceive the word deviant. As per usual Skuse doesn't disappoint. And look out for #TheDeviants. Follow CJ on Facebook. When underdog Corey is bullied, the fearless five are brought back together again, teaming up t...

Thoughts, ideas, photos, and stories. January 8, 2017. What sleeps in winter garden beds? Some kale and wilted lettuce heads,. Carrots tasty, shriveled chard,. In soil that’s frozen very hard. The chives are shivering with cold,. But in the springtime they’ll be bold. And send up shoots that say to me. Your salad’s where I’d like to be. One day the sun will warm the soil. And Anne-li will go out and toil. Turning over weedy dirt. While working in her short-sleeved shirt. So she can go and do her thing.

Thoughts, ideas, and stories. August 7, 2015. It seems that fall is sneaking up on us. The nights are fresh and there’s a hint of dew on the ground in the mornings. The mountain ash berries are ripening, ready for desperate robins who come back down from berry-filled hills after the harvest, looking for anything left to eat. This apple must be the one Eve offered to Adam. It’s the sweetest and juiciest of apples, the Gravenstein. And what is this weird-looking thing? Mini squashes on a shrub? It’s ...

The Raven's Craven Haven. The Raven's Roost; Along the Edge of the Sane. I suppose the Raven left his roost for a while huh. Not that anyone reads this. But that said, can’t really use this as an emotional dumping ground, since it’s technically a compromised digital “location” to begin with. It’s been… what. A year? Wednesday, 5 August 2015. A POEM - GOODBYE EGYPT. Like a lover, Egypt, you have broken my heart so many times. I ate your sand, your molakeya, your dates. Your hot winds burned me. I plunged your Red Sea. Touched its coral gardens,. Its brash neon fish,. Watched stars sink into your deserts,. When your people marched – one voice in chains,. Caught hems on barbed wire nests,. Walked with cats through silent curfews. Around barriers up, your guns pointing. In twilight's pale, I watched your pigeons,. I hav...

Words From Ashes
These are my poems. The words that I have formed out of my past experiences. Some good, others not so much. This blog is dedicated to the development of my poetry. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. This is a psalm I wrote for an assignment in a class I'm taking this summer. Why, O Lord, have you turned your face from your people? Do you not hear our pleas for mercy? All day the faithful cry out in anguish,. And the righteous grieve all the night. How long will you remain distant,. Who will not let the faithful ...
