The World According to Evie. June 30, 2014. Minnehaha Falls After Four Inches of Rain. We left early in the morning and it paid off. Not many people were around yet, allowing us to take our time looking at the falls and taking pictures. We walked a little ways along the edge of the creek to a spot that is usually shallow enough for wading and playing in the water. Evie liked standing on the bridges, watching the water as it rushed under. After the falls, we headed over to a nearby splash pad/wading pool.

The World According to Evie. December 27, 2013. Evie had a hard time, at first, staying in bed on Christmas Eve. But, once asleep, she stayed asleep for the rest of the night, and she managed to sleep in until 7:30 am, giving me plenty of time to have the camera ready to capture her first sight of the Christmas tree on Christmas morning. She was surprisingly patient. Once everyone was present and settled, it was time to check out everything Santa left. Some friends gave Evie a few small gifts, as well.

The World According to Evie. January 26, 2014. As part of the Winter Carnival. Here in Saint Paul, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory holds an orchid show. And that's how I like to participate in the Winter Carnival: walking around a warm building, looking at flowers, reminding myself that days with a high of -7 degrees Fahrenheit and 20 mph winds won't last forever (it just feels that way). This is ridiculous, according to WSDOT we spend $3.9 million dollars per mile on highway noise barriers. The people who live near a highway knew they were buying or renting by a highway.
