Svea's GOVT 2305 Blog. Friday, February 25, 2011. House Votes to Cut $60 Billion. The article I chose was an article about the House voting to cut $60 Billion from the federal budget. The House has a Republican majority, so there was no problem voting to approve the cut. However, the Senate is mostly Democrats, which disapprove of the cut.
