They are fun, and you don’t have to unwind, rewind, and unwind the yarn again and again to get what you want. But when the sock yarn that striped up into a perfectly nice palette of colors last sock suddenly turns into a hideous landscape of *twitch* goldenrod, I put my foot down. No pun intended. Here are patterns for assorted amigurumi. Diddle, Deeding, Devil, Deliala, and Doodle. These little creatures are no more than little, bouncy heads. Like something you’d find a a horror movie, only less gorey and more mini-ified. They are fun to carry around (I keep one in my pocket at school) and use as little good luck charms. I was once a hater of crochet. However, I read The Happy Hooker and Crochet Me. So now I know better. A gauged swatch, unless you knit so tightly that itwould be tiny and a mug would fall off). These would make good beginner projects, though the knit edging might be difficult for a novice. Crochet hook, 5.00 mm. Cast on 17 stitches. Work in seed stitch until piece is a square. Work two rows half-double crochet around the edge. Weave in ends, and show people how knitting and crochet can be best friends!
