It doesn't seem so long ago I signed up for my first ever Me Made May in 2014 and in a flash, was feeling a little lost at not being able to share daily garments with worldwide friends when it came to the end. So, I'm glad it's back and thank you to Zoe of So Zo What Do You Know. For once again organising this fantastic challenge. Go on, give it a go, you know you want to.

Daisy Creates in Sussex. A journey through fabric land. Thursday, 16 October 2014. Greece is the Word. Another country, another fabric haul. A slightly different blog post this time to give you a flavour of Greece and the beautiful island of Karpathos. After a long summer full of hard work a September break was just the ticket for a tired dressmaker and I was really looking forward to dipping my toes in the sun warmed Aegean Sea and chomping some fabulous Greek food. Popi's Studios in Arkasa where we sta...

Daisy Creates in Sussex. A journey through fabric land. Thursday, 30 April 2015. The Call it Melon Yellow. It's been an unfathomably long gap since my last blog post - maybe my blog has been hibernating since Autumn and has now decided with the arrival of Spring and some warmer weather, to poke it's head out over the parapet. So for my first comeback post, what better than a truly Spring-like dress than the Melon Yellow and a flurry of petticoats to celebrate my comeback. Once i'd got that measurement i ...

Daisy Creates in Sussex. A journey through fabric land. Sewing Around A Curve. Transferring Darts from Pattern to Fabric. Today I'd like to share a tip I use for transferring darts on patterns to fabric. Some of you may use this already or have other ways to do this. If you do, please let me know. I use mainly patterns traced from the spaghetti lines of Burda or Patrones and show an example here of a bodice dart. It's pretty self-explanatory! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Me Made May 15. A world made of scraps. Heavens this is bright. Just mindlessly sewing →. June 2, 2015. I understand why farmers never go on holiday: we just spent half an hour retrieving escaped chickens roosting around the garden, at midnight, after four days away in Rome.
