A Mummy in a Strange Land: April 2013

http://typhoonsandtantrums.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

A Mummy in a Strange Land. Sunday, April 21, 2013. We decided to start our mini break close to home yesterday with a trip to Tai O. It's a small fishing village on the western tip of Lantau island and it's renowned for its stilt houses, streets lined with dried fish and sea creatures, and the elusive dolphins. That precariously inhabit the local waters. Tai O is about 45 minutes by bus from Mui Wo and Tung Chung. There are a number of fantastic hikes. http://typhoonsandtantrums.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

A Mummy in a Strange Land. Saturday, December 29, 2012. 2012 has been an enormous year, as far as years go. In February we welcomed our baby Charlie. In the back of the car by the side of the road no less, and then we spent the next few months adjusting to life as a family of four. We were also trying to adjust to life with a child with complicated needs. As if that wasn't enough on our plates, we finally got around to renovating. The house we call home. Accidental Syrup

Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Another great breakfast, brunch or snack recipe to share. This was my very first scone baking experience and I must say they are surprisingly simple, fast, and delicious. Scones are essentially lightly sweetened biscuits as far as how they are made. You can jazz them up with your favorite flavors or mix-ins. I particularly loved the tangy-sweet lemon glaze on these. This is a Tyler Florence Recipe. Courtesy of footv.com. 2 cups flour (I used white-wheat). 1 cup fresh blueberries.

Accidental Teacher, On Purpose

Nice To Meet You. Sunday, August 9, 2015. Year 3: Exploring Countries and Cultures, Week 1. So, can I just say I hope the rest of our homeschool weeks go as smoothly as this one did? Thank God for the peaceful, productive week! We started with watching a movie titled On The Way to School (it's on Netflix). It documents four different kids trying to get to school and what they have to endure just to get there. These kids realize that their education is a privilege. Well, that's one week down and 35 to go!
